Unfortunately still not working reliably
After I rebooted the server and my iphone it worked briefly until I started using the web login on my PC and it then stopped working. Curiously the iphone seems to always save the following bookmark
http://myserver.com/logon.aspx?ReturnUrl...fault.aspx
so maybe the mobile bit on the end is the problem?
I have 2 default.aspx files on my system, the one in the /web is 2kb dated 01/09/2010 @ 10:24 and the one in /web/mobile is 35kb dated 18/06/2013 08:59
If I stop the iphones web browser and leave it for a while, turn off the wifi so it accesses the server from a different IP and then enter the normal login url manually -
http://myserver.com
it seems to work until a sucessful login and logout

Just to rule things out is there a way of deleting everything whilst retaining the recording searches? I'm wondering if a delete all and reload is worth a try

UncleJohnsBand Wrote:Stop the npvr service.

Extract these two files into the web\ directory. It should overlay two files - logon.aspx and logon.aspx.cs

Restart npvr service.

Test.

Let me know how you make out.

both default.aspx pages are correct.... one is for the overall site and the other is distinctly for mobile device following validation from the logon.aspx processing.

The web logon.aspx is what controls determination if you are coming from an internal or external IP, are allowing or not allowing local network login without entering user id and password and whether or not you are accessing with a mobile based device or not.

Login credentials are created and managed on the client (i.e. pc or phone itself). The login requires the ability of the client to execute java script and to save cookies.

You should be able to just go to http://your-server:8866/ and it works....landing you in the mobile directory if mobile device was detected.... you could set your bookmark for you mobile device to http://your-server:8866/mobile if you wanted.

The fact that it is intermittent seems to point to a client issue.

That said....when NPVR went from version 2.x to 3.x it wet from .Net 2 to .Net 4 as the runtime and that may have introduced new behavior.

There have not been any issue reported from an Android perspective either....which leads me to believe it is something in the iOS environment.

iOS 7 appears to have come out in November so it is a newer OS....perhaps it has something blocking the security cookie or not allowing the javascript to operate.

Post your web.log running the patch I posted and I can take a look.... I only corrected a couple of very minor html format issues so I knew it was a shot in the dark.

It's currently working so I'll keep trying it until it doesn't and then post the log, consistently the issue is a logon screen without a working logon button, is there only one screen form that can be sent or does what is sent depend on what device is detected at first connection?

Part of logfile attached, the first login attempt gave me the screen with the non working login button, I then rebooted my phone and got the working one and could login. I've changed the domain name to "mydomain.com" and the ip address of my iphone to 22.22.22.22

This is a client issue for sure.... the fact that it works and then doesn't highlights that.

Stop the npvr service.
Unzip the attached into your \web directory....it should overwrite one file.
Start the npvr service.

Let me know the results.

Thanks for your continued help on this, log of activities below:
Installed file and restarted recording service, and
started inewa from the icon on the phone - didn't work,
rebooted phone & tried again, didn't work,
closed down browser on phone and then entered actual address into reopened browser, didn't work,
opened it from IE on PC and logged in,
tried from phone using icon, didn't work
logged out of desktop client, rebooted phone and tried again entering address directly into browser. Got correct login screen and it worked
Closed phone browser and tried again from icon, got wide logon screen and didn't work.
Deleted phone icon, opened mobile browser and entered address directly, got wide login screen and didn't work
waited awhile and opened it using icon in mobile browser bookmarks and got correct login screen - do you have an apple device you can play with? I can send you a PM with username and password if you want?

All the non working logon screens were the wider field type I posted earlier and the logon button itself didn't work

Tried it again another few hours on and it's still working so I think the 3 new test files you gave me have improved it.
As I only have an iphone and desktop is it possible on my system to overwrite the rogue login screen with the working one so only the working one can ever be sent out?

I really don't think it is a rogue login screen. I believe the iPhone is loading the page and not loading css and associated js causing the invalid display (long look) and dis-function (no button click).

Since you indicated that restarting the phone and clearing the cache seemed to help I added a line that should tell the browser not to cache the logon.aspx page.

Keep me posted.

Bit more feedback for you:
Having used it successfully for several days now I just logged in on the desktop and then tried the phone from an icon rather than the browser favorite and I got the non working screen. Rebooted the phone and tried again from the icon and still didn't work, then rebooted again and tried it from the browser favorite and it worked.
So I think:
1)Non working logon from a shortcut on the home screen
2)Working from a favorite in the browser menu
Its a little weird as I've always used a shortcut on the home screen without issue which makes me wonder what has changed to stop it working - could it be the update from Next PVR V2.6 to V3 that has changed something with the logon process that has exposed an IOS bug?
