I installed 98.13 in December and had not been reading the forums until a few days ago.

I have a PVR350 with A/V output feeding a modulator, with its output combined with over-the-air channels from a roof-top antenna and distributed to all TVs. If this setup will not work with the latest GBPVR, is there any option other than staying with with the version I have now?

One other question: recently I was recording a one-hour show, and after a half hour, started watching the recording. At the end of the hour, my computer froze and I had to power off. I don't remember trying that before. Is there any reason that shouldn't work?

Sorry, no. If you want to use the PVR350 tv out, you'll probably need to stay on your current version.

These sorts of PC lockup probems are pretty common for PVR350 tv out users. You sound like one of the luckier ones if you're not seeing this regularly, but I'm sure it is the cause.

Sub, thanks for the quick reply.
Will the new EPG source work with my current version?
Are there any other cards with TV Out?

The new Schedules Direct plugin is only worth with 1.0.16 and above, but you should be able to switch your capture source to using the xmltv file source with xmltv SchedulesDirect client.

No. The market has moved away from these devices a long time ago. Back when PCs were slow, and struggled to play MPEG2 files and DVDs etc, some manufacturers made tv out devices like the Hollywood plus, PVR350, XCard etc, but these are pretty much dead products these days. The norm is now to use a video card with tv out and video acceleration features, ie modern nvidia or ATI video card.

Help!! Haven´t been able to install the runtime library and the latest GB/PVR.
The archive of the distributabel seems to be damaged according to WINRAR messages and when I try to install GB/PVR, a window shows up saying )translated `Can´t open this installation package. Contact the people who made it, and have them chcek if this is a valid Windows installer package`

i'm flabberghasted :-(

now trying to download vcredist via emule and see what happens if i try to install it.

what about the error I get when trying to install the msi?
I tried installing the msi after downloading from some other sites.
Only in one instance the install started, but soon came up with a message that a cab file was corrupted.

The msi installer downloads for me, but I dont want to attempt to run it on my machines since they already have 1.0.16 installed.

You could check the MD5 sums on the files to download to see if you've downloaded them correctly. I get the following:
Code:
[Path] / filename                              MD5 sum
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[C:\Temp\1.0.16\]
GBPVR10016.msi                                 d1b314de0618f59692323723a67441c9
vcredist_x86.zip                               802ffe1a4ca8d6a2911fe47e927e09c5
