Yes, I updated the utility to use the CommonGBPVRUtilities which can be downloaded at CommonGBPVRUtilities on the WiKi. I need to update the readme to indicate so. Thanks for the catch.

I think that is something that ZaDDa added to his version of the program. If he is getting episode number then he is pulling from the Zap2It information, as the XMLTV doesn't provide this information.
I don't have much in the way of free time right now, to look at enhancing the Rename Recordings. The version I use is several modifications behind what is current, and I don't think I'll be updating it for a while. If I do take a look at it, I'll see about making something configurable for the filename pattern, but no guarantees.

Ah...I wasn't aware that someone else had undertaken mods on it.
I'll put a bug in ZaDDa's ear then Thanks.

Oh for more hours in a day... I am working on it. I don't know of anything specific to episode numbers. I'll see what's in the extra Zap2It data and make that usable as well if possible. I'd like to give an ETA, but real work takes precedence....

If Zap2It is used as the episode guide source GBPVR will store the uniqueid number that Zap2It provides, for TV Shows this can include the episode number of the show that is being aired if it is provided. If it combines with Jorm's Zap2It Tools, then you can get all the available information for a show by looking it up with that utitility.
Too make it as universally useable as possible though, all the extra information should be made available only as options, not as defaults because XMLTV sources typically don't provide the same amount of detail that Zap2It does.

I'm using the renamerecording.exe from the Wiki page. All but the last recording in any given subdirectory is being erased completely, although it is being renamed with the episode title. The file size is 20,480. Is this the correct version that I should be using (I hope not)? If not, what/where is the correct one?
Thanks, this is a great feature to have.

Somewhere, about page 6 or so, in this thread, is RenameRecordings.
That's the latest, stable working version, and may solve your problem. If the show always has the same name, then it simply won't rename it, but it will still be in your recordings folder.

OK, I found renamerecordings.exe on Page 12. The file size is 24,576. I'll give this one a try. I'm glad I'm trying this on a test machine, otherwise I'd have lost all my recordings.
