I was not aware you had already implemented this. I just checked and found it is not working. For a track with the artist field being blank, I do get two entries in the library view, and if I queue the album, the tracks are displayed twice. Also the artist field remains empty.
I will check later with today's release, which I am about to download
Pieter

Edit: My request was actually for Conductor and not Composer in the field. If you can do Conductor, Composer would be fine however.

Well had the time to try ML3 [version issued today] with little real problems

I'm running on gbpvr 1.3.11

Flac files play correctly

been running now for 5 hours on my MVP without any problems so far

after I installed and did basic testing I then installed community skin 4 this did not work with ml3 and required me to copy the issued skin folder into the community skin one, other than that no problems of any real issue

only thing which does not seem to quite working is the menu key which in ML2 allowed to choose collections etc.

Keep up the good work

Thanks for the feedback tkgafs

The menu key is only enabled on the library view, I just tested on the MVP and this worked fine. Do you need it somewhere else?

No thats fine, thats probably why I thought it never worked properly in ML2 either !!

MVP still playing this morning as I type this so seems just as stable to me as ml2

Well that is much better than here. To help me finding my problem two questions:
1) Does it play with the playlist screen showing?
2) Do you have hibernation/standby enabled on your GBPVR server?

1)

I tend to leave it on the playlist screen but the MLpanel screensaver kicks in after 45 secs

2) No I dont have hibernate / standby enabled on PC

using ML2 I have seen my system running for 14 days before without a break

As I only have one MVP I do use a dedicated network card on the PC with a cross over cable rather than go through a switch / hub

I'll check that is still running when I get home from work tonight but I do fully expect it to be quite happily playing away

You're right Pieter, I must have removed this when I made the database optimizations and it must have only been an internal build for testing. It was conductor, band as requested.

Well in my installation it seems that a bug remains, i.e. if the artist field is empty I do get the track twice in my library.
TIP: I do use a smalll Test collection with tracks where I have played with different combinations of ID3 tags.

Sounds like the bug you are seeing is related to the one I have found where item's in Collections are shown twice, I keep meaning to look into this, this message will remind me.

Here's one that should address some issues

- Random playlist time from config.xml is now used
- More accurate times for the playlist reported
- Better control over tracks inserted with Ctrl-K
- If Artist not found Band/Orchestra then Conductor will be used.
- Tracks in collections could be shown twice

New feature

If a file norandom.txt is included with the audio files, it will not play in general random play. If a collection other than "system" is playing this file is ignored.
