Wakalaka Wrote:I couldn't get this tool to work because a friend's system that I'm setting up has an HVR1600, which isn't supported yet by the GoTV app. It doesn't detect any supported tuner card and won't finish installation. Any idea how to get around it? I'm using the yahoo API tool that -oz- wrote.

Post #2 in this thread worked for me. Find the GBPVR BDA.INI file, find your info on your tuner, grab a graph from the go for tv folder and modify per instructions. There are only a handful of entry changes. Once I got my head around it ( I can be slow at times) it was pretty easy. Unfortunately no OTA listings through GO TV.

Now that I mention how great it's been working... I have a problem with it.

The last couple days, every morning when I check the listings, the YahooXMLTV.exe process has been still running. The logs look like the application has completed the download, the process just doesn't stop. And if the process doesn't stop, then GBPVR doesn't have any guide data. If I kill the process manually, the data in the guide shows up.

Any ideas on what the problem is?

Thanks!

Not offhand. Are you saving a log? If so can you post it?

I had that problem early on also.
Disabling the indexing service for the folder YahooXMLTv is installed in fixed it for me.
I believe the xml output was being indexed as it was being created, keeping the utility from closing the file and exiting.

Right click on the folder > Properties> Advanced> remove the check that allows the folder to be indexed.

Thanks, I'll stop the index of that folder. Hopefully that is the problem. I like simple fixes Smile

I am also using the I-XMLTV utility as well. Just thought I'd mention it.

I tried to get Go for TV setup on my PC, but my Tuner card isn't supported. Can I set up listings without that?

Do you have a quick setup guide?

See the second post in the thread. It details how to add tuner support. At the bottm of the post is an alternative method for setting up the lineups without a tuner.

Added "nosort" option for titles.
Changed the <display-name> defaults.
Default offset changed to "+0000" from "UTC".
Instructions updated to reflect changes.

How does this affect Jim's I-XMLTV? I am having major problems getting all this to work correctly. I'm about ready to scrap the I-XMLTV and see if I can get this working with just the YahooXMLTV XML file.
