So, i did a little testing, and over the evening and night there are a few recordings running, so we can see what happens in "real life" :-)
EPG Update worked (started it manually). Logs and some screenshots attached.

As far as you could tell, did everything seem to work?
In the logs it looks like everything stopped correctly, and you didn't mention any BSOD, so hopefully we're past this issue.

Yes, at the moment everything seems to works fine. No BSOD till now. Keeping fingers crossed.....
The BSOD always took some time, so to be sure, it needs to run 24 hours. But feels very good right now!!! Thank you sub!

What was happening was a problemswith a subsequent recording on the same frequency but not running back to back. You have a busy schedule tonight but once the tuners are reused I think this will be good to go (no mess on these logs). Martin

Everything is working, no BSOD.
If you want to look at the logs, they are attached. EPG update and all recordings worked. Standby works. Seems like sub has found the error!!!!! A great X-mas present! Thank you so much!

Great. Thanks for the update. Very relieved to get to the end of that one.

Me too, very happy, that v7 now works correct.
Can i ask you, what the problem was in the end?

I think the main issue was the asynchronous stop that NextPVR has done for years doesn't play well with some devices (most notably yours), and because of changes to the EPG update it was much more likely that something else would try happening during that asynchronous stop. It seems the driver for your device particularly didn't like it and could blue screen.
I changed DeviceHostWindows.exe to try protecting against multiple things happening at the same time (not sure this ended up helping) I changed NShared.dll to change the EPG sequencing a little, so that it wasn't trying to do things at the same time. I changed Unmanaged.dll to do a synchronous stop instead of an async one. I changed NPVRTSMon.ax to fix a bug I found with stopping streams, that could lead to a crash. |
