I check my updated guide problem and it looks perfect since I changed it to 5:00am. So I'm guessing that either the server was too busy or down or something weird (maybe my internet was down or something)... thanks for the help guys

Not particular to GBPVR, but in my myHTPC days I found that every once in a while the zap2it site didn't work. The result was a 0 kb xml file. I just wrote a hook in my script that if the file size was 0 kb then don't update. Since I was scheduled to dl the guide everyday this wasn't a big issue.

The question is how does GBPVR handle the guide update when the site is down. From what I can see it's pretty smart and will not update. For those who have issues, wait a couple of days to test this.

cool! neat way to keep zapit from getting hammered by a bunch of people all hitting it at the same second - maybe I'm just a simple guy, but that's some brilliant thinking Sub!

I changed mine last night to 2am and it went through fine as well. I'm guessing too many people must be hammering it at 3:00 AM. Curious that mine would fail every day for a week though at 3. Oh well, I'm happy again. Keep up the great work Sub.

No sorry, I dont know. There always seems to be a few people that get this, with every release I can remember.

Is the database for 94.12 backward compatible with the last 92.11 release? I'm looking to fall back to that release which worked fairly well for me.

I installed 94.12 and I'm having nothing but problems with it. It reboots itself at the drop of a hat; changing channels, selecting the TV Guide, etc. Sometimes it runs all day without a problem and then change the channel up or down and boom it reboots. And then it gets in a reboot loop, it just keeps on rebooting over and over again. Sometimes it goes through 3 or 4 reboots and then comes up normally, other times it reboots endlessly; I've found that if I enter Safe Mode and run chkdsk /f when it restarts it is USUALLY OK --- usually but not always.

Just now I finally got it to restart after a dozen reboots and I changed channels --- GBPVR froze with 0% CPU but a frozen video image from the 'new' channel on screen. I tried to exit out but it's stuck and will not respond. I ended up using CTL-ALT-DEL to get the restart dialog. After sitting for 5 minutes EVERYTHING was gone from the screen EXCEPT the frozen video image and that's where it has been sitting for 10 mintues now. The only way out is a reset at this point and more than likely this will result in a reboot loop --- it's done this before and that's what generally happens.

None of these things happened with the 92.11 release so I'm prepared to go back to it for now.
