Wasn't sure where else to post this, but this seemed a good a place as any.

I wanted to express how pleased I am with GB-PVR. I have a HVR-1600 tuner and the QAM support built into 1.0.16 is excellent. I previously used an HD external antenna to utilize the second tuner, but being in a basement it often produced unreliable signal. I now have full use of and even more channel options for the second tuner.

Mapping the digital channels was bit of a scavenger hunt, but pleased that its setup correctly.

I successfully switched to Yapi2XML as my source for guide data, which so far is working very well. I think the GB-PVR interface is great and my recordings have been consistently reliable and high-quality.

I even got the channel logos setup -- also an education in seek and destroy -- but now that I have, it enhances the experience greatly.

All this is simply to say 'thanks' for a great application. The little tweaks and bumps were very much worth the hige amount of value this tool provides. I experimented with Sage, WinTV, MCE, and a few others, and GB-PVR has simply provided me the best experience -- and that's what matters in the end.

Regards,
Andrew

I am interested in downloading the subject file, but when I try, the Save button is always grey and won't respond. Is there something wrong somewhere?

Paul.

After receiving your note, I tried again. The Save button was still gray, but I clicked it anyway. It became dark. I clicked it again and the file downloaded.
Strange.
Thanks,

Thanks,
That's a firefox "feature" that Ie may have now too so you don't accidentally download things you don't want.

Hiya thanks for releasing the new update. I wont be upgrading to it as I'm not really experiencing any of the problems that the bugfixes provide and the features I see arent really important for me personally (although I can see how many would want them I'm not discounting them.)

What I'm waiting on pins and needles for is the modules, maybe I'm missing something.

> FM station returned
I love my CBC Radio One. I sometimes want to use the radio feature so I can listen to the FM on my PVR off my TV. While I can go to the old GBPVR instead of PVRX2 its a bit of a pain as this machine is remote controlled using the IR remote most of the time.

>FM Radio Record
I dont think this feature ever made it into any version of GBPVR. I cant imagine how difficult it would be to implement, it was in the Cyberlink software that came with my card and I really miss it since I switched to GBPVR. There are radio shows that, much like TV, I'd like to be able to record and listen to later. Any chance on including this feature?

> Weather
I cant seem to get the weather app to enable in the PVRX2. Probably mostly due to the new interface a lot of plugins are no longer working in there, its operational in the old version. I used this feature a lot to look at the satmap to predict my own weather.

Great job on PVRX2, it looks so much more professional and cleaner. The skipping works a lot better too, in the older version I found that sometimes skipping too quickly would cause it to hang for a while until it "seeked" to the new location which drove me nuts. This new version is snappy and fast I'm loving it and it looks beautiful - so much so that I dont really care about changing the skin at all. Skinwise the only thing that would be a nice feature for the skinfreaks would be some kind of simple animation in the background kind of like the Vista dreamscapes but directx driven using the vector chip on the video card (not the CPU or memory) like a shimmer. But thats not really important to me.

Mostly I'm craving my FM and Net Radio plugins and possibly an ability to record FM. Great work on the update.

I believe sub is working on getting the FM radio into PVRX2 for a future release.

As for the weather, there is a new version that works with PVRX2 which you can download off of the wiki.

Hope this isn't in the wrong spot....but I just took the plunge on the latest release, I was on an older pre-1.0 release because of stability and performance issues, and this release is much faster in every way. It loads faster, guide comes up faster, shows play quicker....etc.

Just wondering if anyone else has had this same experience, and if Sub has done anything in the last couple releases to specifically address speed??

Last thing, curious about what the minimum and recommended computer specs would be....sub? anyone else?

Both of the 1.0.x releases have had very similar performance, though there has been a few minor improvements in 1.0.16. I think PVRX2.exe is definitely a lot quicker than GBPVR.exe in lots of places.

I havnt decided what the new minimum specs for PVRX2 are yet. They're definitely higher than the old requirements though, particularly around the suitable video cards.
