New NMTInstall2 for N-PVR

I received an email that reminded me that I hadn't update the server side file. It should be good now. Note if you haven't upgraded to 2.5.9 you probably need to run this twice the get johnsonx42's patches.

Thanks TomH, seeing the problems that others were having with this upgrade I decided to be a bit more proactive this time. NMTInstall is the safest way to install and upgrade in normal releases (2.5.x was far from normal)

Just used NMTInstall2 to do the nPVR 3.1.1 install -- thanks for keeping things updated as you do.

Before making the upgrade... I had just (today) reconfigured my 2250 to ATSC, did the searching for channels, got the EPG (correct channels, nice), restarted everything. AT that point: tv guide fien, could watch live tv, change channels etc, could initiate recording, and play previously recorded shows -- both at the computer and via my NMT (eGreat M34A).

When using the (your) installer I leave ALL boxes checked - this time (and maybe last time too the installation got hung up - with the Window Title bar reading "mvpmcx2 setup completed"
I closed/cancelled.

At this point... running nPVR at the computer -or- on the NMT
(a) when trying to watch Live TV - I get "unable to find available capture device"
(b) trying to 'quick record' I get "Device failed to start"

I checked into nPVR/Settings/Devices/ the 2250 ATSC devices looked AOK (sames as before upgrade)

If any of this rings any bells for you... I really appreciated a push in the most likely direction for chasing this down.

Did you reboot, there are a lots of

in your NDigitalhost file.

Note that I don't update any patches anymore unless there is something special for mvpmcx2 so until either sub or johnsonx42 release a rollup package you need to do this yourself.

I also installed the new NPVR, and re-installed NMTInstall2, and now sometimes my PCH appears to start the NPVR-environment just fine, only to a "blank" environment, without any recordings and settings. When I leave the NPVR on the PCH, and restart the script (not even rebooting the PCH), everything is there, and it works fine. Any clues?

Ok, I updated NMTInstall.xml but that was for mvpmcx2 and it didn't change so it's just for new installs. There hasn't been any rollups or service packs from sub yet so there's a lot of work to update 3.1.1 after this

Re: NPVR 3.2.9 (March 29th)

The NMTInstall2 (downloaded today) is using/upgrading to the 3.1.1 version of NPVR. ((And doing a nice job of it (all boxes checked) thank you very much.))

Is the new npvr.3.2.9 one that you plan to incorporate into NMTInstall2 ?

My npvr.3.1.1 is running fine and since the only upgrade path that has worked flawlessly for my NPVR/mvpmcx2/NMT(2xeGreat34A) setup has been your NMTInstall2 - I will stand pat with 3.1.1 if you don't intend to incorporate this new release into NMTInstall2.

PS: am curious if you ever had any discussion with sub about enhancing the native NPVR upgrade with the capabilities of your NMTInstall2 approach ?
