I have the same problem with the volume as ShiningDragon. If I start up gb-pvr and go to live tv, I have sound, but once I touch the volume button on my Hauppauge remote the wave volume is turned down to zero. Trying to raise the volume from within gb-pvr doesn't work at all.

Any idea what might be causing this?

Lindsay Wrote:Thanks for the great work sub. Most everything seems to be working but when I exit a recording playback or a video play I get a box popping up with "Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.".
A few people seem to have reported this with the MVP. I've got a fix ready, but just holding off for a day or so to see if anything else important pops up from this release.

Quote:It also plays video badly on the computer screen but seems 'normal' via mvp. By badly I mean quite fuzzy with a some loss of contrast. Same vids palyed with WMP are great. The videos also have small hesitations e.g.when panning or zooming that don't seem to be there using MVP (weird). GBPVR.EXE runs at 17-25% cpu during vid play.
GB-PVR doesnt do any of the playback itself. Instead it just hands the task of playback to third party decoders etc installed on your machine.

If you use the same MPEG2 decoder as WMP, and switch to Overlay, then it'll be using the same components for playback, and will result in an identical picture to that produce by WMP.

Thanks, heaps, sub. Just to clarify, the error msge I get occurs with computer display as well as MVP.

Changed to Overlay Manager and got an instant improvement. Apologise for this codec problem appearing here as I realise now it is not a new version problem..

Thanks for the tip, but it didn't work for me unfortunately. I guess I'll just see if the next version fixes this, or then go back to the previous version.

Sub, is this something that can be recreated? I have not experienced this, and I use the MVP exclusively.

Also did you see my post about Manual recordings?

No, I've never seen it either. I'm not sure why just some people are getting this.

No I didnt, but I've just read it now and corrected the issue.

Sub,

Will the fix take care of the problem with the guide ie. blue/black background but no info? It's happening fairly frequently but I haven't had any complete lockups recently (just turn the MVP off and back vs. restarting the services).

I dont know. Its not something I know how to reproduce, or something I've explicitly tried to fix.

Can you reproduce the problem, then zip and attach your gbpvr.exe.log?

Shouldn't have posted, just happened again and I had to restart the services to get the MVP back.
