sub Wrote:That was your mistake. You cant copy the gbpvr.mdb or config.xml from a different release. These files are not portable between releases (and never have been in the past).

GB-PVR automatically retains your settings during an upgrade.

To fix this, you'll probably need to uninstall, reinstall v0.96.12, copy your files back, and then try the upgrade process again...but this time dont copy the old files over.

Made like you said; old version reinstalled... started to install the new version, now i am gettig the wellknown MS Screen..., btw. channels aren't here too... Undecided

still having webadmin browser problem #168 in this thread. however, the error only appears when I try to advance the guide on a remote machine. If I open a browser on the machine itself, it works flawlessly.

permissions problem?

Sub,

I just uninstalled the older version and installed 97.7. It worked fine at first and then I started adding plugins. All of a sudden GBPVR was taking up a lot of memory (over 130 MB per server and I am running 2) and then under task manager I noticed a large number of DW20.exe files popping up (like more than 6). These took up a lot of RAM and ran me well over my 1GB of RAM.

Is this because the plugins may not be ready for .net 2.0?

I ran calculator, stocks, weather, check email, Su Doku, MVP Position, Caller Id, and a couple of others.

Once this started happening, I could no longer get GBPVR on the MVP.

If it is because of the plugins, I will restart from scratch and wait for the plugins to catch up.

@sub
My Problem is resolved. I went the following way:

1. All GB-PVR Apps closed.
2. All GB-PVR deinstalled.
3. Installed the new Version
4. Copied over my backed up GB-PVR (96.12)
5. Started a repair-install of the new version
6. Disabled all plugins

For now it seems to be good; watching TV is possible.

Database would not convert with the utility and MVP's failed to connect but it does send dongle, hangs at connect to server. Went back to 96.12, I don't have time to mess with it right now.

Some plugins should work unaltered, some will need updates. Your best bet is to only add the plugins you absolutely need. Add them one at a time so you can tell if one makes your system go nuts. Also check whether there are updated versions available before you install them.

I couldnt tell you which are good and which arent. I dont run any plugins here.

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach your gbpvr.exe.log and I'll take a look.

Everything works fine except when I try to watch a DVD. It does come up but its extremely choppy and it cause gbpvr.exe to use 98% cpu. Everything was working fine in the 96.12 version. So I backed everything up, uninstalled all versions, completely removed the directory and all files, reinstalled the new version and still the same choppy result. I use the Intervideo decoder and the dvd plays fine in WinDVD and in WMP. Anyone have any ideas? Attached are the logs.

Any ideas what might be causing it? I just reformatted today and installed this new version of GB-PVR Smile
