my UpdateEPG.bat before I starting using the I-XMLTV app looked like this:
Code:
cd /d "C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\YahooXMLTv"

Thanks for the reply scb147.

Will this overwrite the exisiting xml file? Do I need to delete it first?

Problem is that I am only seeing 10 days of listings in GBPVR.

Today, I'm asking for 14 and seeing 12 in GBPVR.

Yesterday it was 14 and 14.

I thought something was wrong, but I guess 12 days is within the 10-14 day range that is to be expected.

this will overwrite the existing XML file, so if you want to keep the previous one, before the code I gave you, you would want to copy it to another file.

But you don't need to delete the existing XML file either.

I wish it was something in my code. I would be able to fix that Wink
Thanks, that would be exactly the problem I see. Oh well, 10 days isn't too bad. Wink

Whurlston,

I found a minor bug when I first tried your program. When I would run the program from the desktop and leave off a destination directory, most of the time it would put the xml file in the directory above my desktop. For example, I would expect it to place the file here:
c:\documents and settings\morrisonhiker\desktop\
but it sometimes put the file here:
c:\documents and settings\morrisonhiker\

I got around that issue by just always giving it a destination location. Just thought you might want to know.

Thanks again for creating this app!

Sorry but I just can't get this working. Would greatly appreciate some advice.
System: Windows XP sp2 with Hauppauge WINTVR 150MCE.
GBPVR installed in regular directory.
XMLTV program installed in subdirectory of devnz/gbpvr.
Yahoo Go Tv up and running (in fact, I had tried to switch over to that program as I just wasn't able to get this working no matter how hard I tried but I'm getting annoyed with the quirks of that dvr.
Ran XMLTV.exe and got an xml file.
Set up the gbpvr config with selection of Recording Source as Direct Recording Plugin and selected my card there. EPG source is XMLTV plugin that points to the xml file.
I loaded the EPG and the channel lineup looks great in the config.
I haven't touched the bda.ini file.

Problem is:
I see no channels from within gbpvr in the TV Guide section.
I have no shows in the Search Guide function.

Like I said, I just don't know what I'm missing here. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the program several times over the past few weeks (running latest builds of gbpvr and xmltv). Any advice/help is greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks in advance,
E

Can you post the log when it puts it in the wrong directory?

Hi eoren1,

I have had problems in the past with my TV guide data when I moved from one type of EPG information to another, or when I moved from one provider to another. What seems to work (always) for me is to (from the config) completely empty the EPG information and manually delete all the channels in the lineup. Then, delete the capture source and re-add it with the new EPG settings. Then, an update EPG for me has always straightened out my channel listings as well as my TV guide listings.

I know the above seems sort of drastic, and there are probably shortcuts, but it has always worked for me in the past and it's not really that hard. I don't know if this will help in your case, but I thought I would share (in case it's not a problem with YahooXMLTv).

Cheers! Smile
