Sorry, its not something I can provide support for. Just uninstall the News Ticker if it is interfering with your recordings.

Sub,

Sorry for the late reply, I have been using the old original way to record with my ATI HDTV Wonder (it had been working for a few weeks). It has now stopped working for recording, I can still watch HDTV. I have now updated to your 5th patch, manually resetup the channels and tried a recording.

I now cannot record or watch HDTV. A folder is created but there are not files in it. When I try to watch TV, I get a picture that is just digital trash with no audio (it is a still image).

I have read through this whole topic and think I set it up right. Did I do something wrong in the setup? My logs should be attached, hopefully they are all there.

Ok, very strange, things WERE working just fine for me as well. I had been able to record and everything. I upgraded the hard drive and was still able to record. What i'm finding though is that about half my channels are no longer coming in and dont pickup on a tuner scan either. I tried both the version 4 and version 5 patches thinking perhaps something was out of whack. Both seem to be doing the same thing.

I'm attaching the logs where I scanned over and over again last night, but to no avail. Sad

Maybe poor signal quality on those other channels?

Sub,

You had helped me in the support forum. As I said there (repeating here because the threat was messed up there) I used TS Reader to set things up manually and now everything works well. TS Reader is very helpful. I have an antenna rotator and it gives a very good reading of signal strength. I have not done a spreadsheet with all of the antenna angles and the manual settings. Resetting up will be just a copy and paste now.

I have recorded a number of shows now with no problems (with my ATI HDTV Wonder). Thanks for you help on this,

Well I thought that might be the case too, but the TV pulls them in just fine. I also didnt have a problem with them previously. I'm not ruling out a hardware issue, but I thought if there was something in the logs I'd be able to rule out GBPVR completely. Smile

The tuner on your capture card may not be as good as the tuner on your tv though, so may not be as good at locking on to weak signals.

Do you receive these channels via any other software?

That's going to be my attempt tonight. The card came with some really bad software but I'll try installing it tonight. It'll require uninstalling the BDA driver and loading the DVB driver. I wont know more until I hack at this tonight.

Thanks.
