I was planning on posting a demo version tonight, but I have been unsucessful. The total .zip file was 5+MB. I am not aware of any special requirements for posting larger files, but splitting up into about 2.5MB chuncks did not work either. It is late (my time) so I am going to persue this sometime this weekend.

You could start a page in the wiki and upload your zip file there. You wouldn't need to make the page visible right away, but you could reference the uploaded zip file from the forum.

Unfortunately your first time editing the wiki is challanging.

Contact blader_se right away to get edit access to the wiki.

I'm at work right now, but later I can help you set things up.

I started the wiki process. My weekends can be more hectic than the week even if I didn't have to work this morning (two kids, thier sports and weekend activities).

After I get wiki access and have it set up I will tone down the hype level. This is my first project and I think I am going overboard with the posting here.

Link has also been added to post #1 of this thread.

(p.s. Old dog. I was quick with my links to skin packs huh?)

A trick from Old Dog's Christmas Collection.

Take your favorite image/photo and crop it and give it a 4:3 ratio (390 x 295 for example).

Save it as a inset.png

Rename the inset.png in the \skin\chameleon\ directory to something like inset.png.bak

Copy new image into that folder.

Fire up GB-PVR with Chameleon (or any other skin that uses inset.png)

Then you get.....

A few tweaks. Not really ready for public release but what the heck.

Posted to show off new appearance manager skin.

Edit: Here is an explanation.

The Music Library mini-window is simulated with the exception of background and buttons. Music Library and button text is done in the appearance skin.xml. I also use a simulated visualization image in the lower left and a simulated selection window image. I also added user interface hint arrows at the top of the screen. The buttons and background update in real time. If the user moves down to select buttons, moving back up will show that change in this window.

I have started collecting images for task images. Some are creations of mine as well. Mosly I have used real pictures and cleaned them up some.

If you want to try what I have so far, extract the attached file to your skin directory (a test copy of one is preferred) and it will create a TaskImage_Chameleon directory. Inside that directory will be a DistributeTaskImages.bat file. Double click that to distribute the images.

If you do not wish to do that, you can always view them with your image program of choice.

I may change them after a while, still feeling my way around with it. I kind of am getting hung up on what image would best depict recordings. I don't want to use video tapes or film reels since this is the digital age now and I want to go in a different direction.

Maybe a hard drive with a red record button?

Any graphic artists types who do not want to get involved with skinning, would you want to contribute to the GB-Pvr community by creating task images? (not just for this skin but for use by all)

I followed a tutorial for the first one (red power button) then came up with variations.

to use them, rename the one you want to use as task.png and place it in the \Gbpvr\Skin\SkinOfChoice\Exit or \System directory

Once I get Chameleon 1.0 presentable and themepack compliant. I will try to come up with some good SkinEffect packages as well. (I am dropping that sorry ass Laser one I did)

I might see if LEGO has any legs behind it, or maybe a wood theme, different than Old Dogs.

I kind of have a rumpled cloth idea. With the Logo on it. I found a tutorial on how to 'shop images onto uneven surfaces.

This is that link.
http://www.photoshopsupport.com/tutorial...place.html

looks like a cool idea.
