Neither do I! So I doubt its the screen saver plugin generating the error. Can you post your gbpvr.exe.log?

Make sure you have v0.4 of the UI elements libary. And the latest version of the common utls libary. I've just checked, I do not have a "archive db" file in my gbpvr folder so I think its something jeff may have fixed.

The files plugin is broken, havn't had time to release a fix - I've taken it off the wiki for now.

the file version numbers i have are:

commonGBPVRUtilities.dll 3.0.2265.15278
GBPVRUIElements.dll 1.0.2327.33466

what versions do you have?

i installed the VA from the wiki just to see if that would get things working but actually seemed to take things backwards. The config started crashing so uninstalled and just copied the above files from the VA install into my GBPVR by themself, and the ScreenSaver plugin started working, but the other ones didnt, and weather disappeared too...

before trying the screensaver plugin, i was using the commonGBPVRutil version 3.0.2265.15278 and this worked with weather, files and calendar. not sure what version of GBPVRUElements i was using.

getting confused lol

EDIT: would any of these be affected by changing to the new SQLite database? Ive changed to that today.

The GBPVRUIElements.dll version is the same is I have.

My version of commonGBPVRUtilities.dll is 1.2.2046.32553
Seems a bit of a difference from your version! I've just re-downloaded the commonGBPVRUtilities.dll from the wiki and 1.2.2046.32553 is the version thats on there.

Neither my UI libary or any of my plugins access the GVBPVR database, don't know about commonGBPVRUtilities but I wouldnt think so.

Might be an idea to remove a one plugin at a time to see which one is the problem. If you post your log file will take a look to help out if you need.

I don't know how difficult this may be....

You see I am totally, totally, totally adicted to www.Flickr.com (almost as much as GBPVR)

It would be soooo cool Cool if you screensaver could pull down random photos from the site - like the 'exploer last 7 days bit'

Just an idea....

The 1.X version of commonGBPVRUtilities.dll is compiled for .net 1.0. It does not play well will the .net 2.0 version of GBPVR.

The 3.X version is compiled for .net 2.0. It should play well wil lthe new version of gbpvr. As to 2.X, I don;t know why I skipped it, but for some reason I did.

Currently the 3.X version of commonGBPVRUtilities.dll is only distrbuted as part of the latest release of the video archive plug-in. I need to find a time to rebuild the distbutions for weather and the music player. I am using them at home on the 3.x commonGBPVRUtilities.dll and they work fine.

I remember when I was new to GBPVR (not to long ago), all the trouble I had to get the plugins working Finding the right version DLLs a skin that worked them.
When I finally got things working, i decided to make the Advisor skin that now is BaseSkin.
For someone to use the more "advanced" themes with info panels together with the BaseSkin or any orher skin, there are a few "common" DLLs to be found by a novice user. It is not that easy when you are new to this program. Many support treads are related to this.
Wouldn't it be possible for you "main" programmers now when so many plugins are depentent on your work, to work together and maintain a basic common plugin pack ?

Something like this......that will give the basic functionality to as skin.

(BleepBloop will be a standard feature in the BaseSkin Themes from now on)
Best Regards

This is due to the move to .net 2.0

It takes time to rebuild/update common utils. UI elements is on .net 1.1 and will stay that way for a while.
