ubstream to MVP

I too would love to play ubustream over teh MVP, in fact, I only want to play it over the MVP, and will modify my MVP with a TOSLINK for that very purpose. If anyone has a step by step procedure for this, I'd be happy to add it to the wiki.

From your post are you saying that there is no way from the MVP to watch live streams using ubustream since the buffer file is not generated unless you are either recording or in timeshift mode?

That's right, the MVP needs an MPEG file in order to display the stream, so you have to use GB-PVR's timeshift mode in order to view the stream in "real time". That's why UbuStream's list mode doesn't work for MVP users. You have to use channel mode and be using a player that can record the stream (VLC and mplayer can both be configured to do this). This is described in detail in the UbuStream documentation.
