First impressions:
I had to reset all my directories for recording, live TV buffer, videos, and music.
Had to deselect the plugins I don't want to use, then reorder them again.
Had to reset the padding.
Had to reset the decoder, and it's settings.
Basically had to reset almost all the options. Seems like the install didn't carry anything from the config.xml except my FM stations.
The Pictures option is great, as is the transcoding option from the video library.
Still can't get any automated transcoding (to 3gp) from the config settings (greyed out settings button), am I missing something?
You can never have enough tuners!

Yes, it sounds like your config.xml did not get retained during the upgrade for some reason (FM stations are in the database). Before I bother looking into it, I'll see if anyone else strikes the same problem.

The transcoding profiles, including 3gp, can be configured by editing the config.xml file's <CustomFFmpegConversions> section.

I just installed and during the installation process I got a System.ObjectDispposedException error from GBPVRRecordingService.exe. The installation seems to work fine however, and my config.xmlo settings were retained (although I was coming from a prerelease version so perhaps that is not a complete test).

Hmm, ok thats a new on me. I'm guessing its working find now though, ie just an unexpected error during installation? It probably occurred stopping the old service as part of the upgrade.

sub Wrote:For those skinners whating to update their skins, the only significant change has been the addition of two more directories:

"C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\skin\Blue\video library2"
"C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\skin\Blue\music library2"

These directories are the skin directories for the new versions of the video/music library.

Your existing skins will most likely work with out these, but you'll end up getting the blue skin look on those screens.

FYI for other skinners, there is a minor change to the Recordings' skin.xml

Code:
<SpecialElement name="LeftArrowDecoration" horizontalOffset="605"/>
<SpecialElement name="RightArrowDecoration" horizontalOffset="635"/>

Yes, that was the another change, but its not required unless you need to move the left/right arrows on the recording popups. If you dont have these SpecialElements, everything will still function fine.

OK. Any harm in overwriting the new config.xml with my old?

I knew about that bit, just curious about the greyed out settings button...not implemented yet?

Dont do that. Your old file will be missing new settings. Just reconfigure you settings in the config app instead.

That button was actually for an older transcoding mechanism (Trans2MVP.exe), no longer used. We have since moved to ffmpeg. I should really remove that button one day.
