It means when you configure it in the config.xml file as a video plugin like this:
Code:
<VideoPlugin4>Weather</VideoPlugin4>

Then when watching something, you could press 4+F11 (or a remote sequence) and a weather popup display will appear.

Thanks Fatman. I figured this out last night, and my Sleep Timer plugin looks cool when it pops over live TV (or whatever).

Unfortunately, certain API features don't behave the same way they do when the plugin is being displayed from the main menu.

The Video Plugin of the Weather Plugin doesnt work for me. At least in live TV, if I press the sequence "4" and "F11" (Go), all I get is that the TV moves to channel 4.

Yep. Can't connect now to paste the line I did, but I took it from the Wiki. What else can it be?

If you try to invoke the plug-in while playing video and then post your gbpvr.exe.log giles I can take a look.

I never modified the config file, and it works for me. Somehow it got in there automajically. But the animation doesn't work. Not when video is playing.

I added the Sleep Timer plugin as a <videopluginX/>, and it looks nice, but the keyboard handling is wack compared to how it is when the plugin is loaded from the menu (with no video or audio playing in the background or otherwise).

2006-09-10 :

* Updated to work with release 0.98 of GBPVR

* Weather plug-in can now be used as a video plug-in. To do so add it to your config.xml in the VideoPlugins section. By default when displayed in video mode a small two day forecast will show up on the botton of the screen. The popup is skinable.

Jeff

Hi Jeff;
I have tried both the recent releases (Sept 10 and Oct 24) and while the plugin loads at initial run of gbpvr and does download all info and maps fine at that tim e(as of 10/24 release) the plugin never downloads any updates from then on. I tried these with both 098.13 and the previous release of gbpvr.

In the config app's setting for the Weather plugin, the check box for "update every __ minutes" is ghosted, with 30 min shown I believe, and stays ghosted no matter the state of the other checkbox (update at initial run time I think it is).

What am I missing? I've searched the forums to see if I needed to delete a file somewhere, but I didn't see anything. I also wondered if I was just being impatient for it to update after the machine woke from sleep, but I've had the platform awake for many hours and the last forecast is still from the time of the last gbpvr execution, about 3 days ago.

I had the plugin working fine with gbpvr 097 a while back.

Thanks for help!

I a bug I suppose, but you have to check the "Display of Video Archiver panel" for the "Display Options" tab in order for the auto update settings to be enabled. I am not sure what happens if you don't have the video archive plug-in installed; I have never tested it in that way.

OH, OK. I hadn't made use of that new feature yet, so perhaps there is indeed a glitch in that (running without the video plugin installed).

thanks!
