No not changed same settings as pressing the "Internal" button. Even when I have set the works public IP in the auto login field I still cannot enter the config page as that again offers the login screen which I cannot get past. I can navigate the admin login pages successfully from my local LAN.

Hi just an update, today at work I was able to go via a direct DSL connection which does not go through the corporate firewall/proxy and it all worked fine. well other than VLC craps out because of packet loss issues but not the web GUI's issue. So it would seem that the issue regarding the login screen is to do with firewall/proxy issues seems really strange why that is the case, I would be interested in why you think this may be a problem ... maybe its a feature enhancement?

Cheers for your help

No feature enhancement here.....Wink

There are just too many variables when it comes to trying to circumvent a work place security/firewall setup.

I found the most effective way of doing this (and any other connections to home) is via ssh server and use putty tunneling - coupled with a usb key that contains putty/truecrypt and the private ssh key to get on the network at home. Then once that's in place you can set up as many types of connections as you want, rdp, vnc, EWA, EWA streaming

I don't see it at circumventing works' firewall, but adding a reverse VPN to home to keep us both secure.... I think I had an explanation on these forums about six months ago that went into more detail..

yeah I already ssh through the work proxy to home to get RDP access to my local home LAN.
I was just interested in why the only thing affected by the proxy is the login page. seems abit strange as other web sites that have logins are not impacted by a proxy being in the way, take this forum for instance or ebay as examples.
Streaming works fine and if you set the autologin (dangerous from a security perspective) then you can set up you recording etc..

I am surprised that it is not being considered to make a proxy friendy login screen like other authenticated systems.
