Sorry, I cant answer your questions on this. I dont have the nvidia codec myself, so never spent any time trying this stuff with it.

Whaddya mean you don't have the codec? How outrageous! I thought you'd have so many codecs around your place by now that they'd be coming out your ears, permeating your clothes, inflitrating your wardrobe, souring your milk and weeding the garden by now... Smile

I tried a trial of that codec a couple of years ago, but found it deregister itself whenever it notices a debugger running (so you dont find out their secrets). There was no way I was going to pay for codec that would inflict this pain on me.

I personally have had no problems whatsoever with using the Nvidia Purvideo decoder. I'm using a GeForce 7800GS AGP video card and actually found the opposite to be true for me. When my free trial of the Nvidia decoder ran out I swithed to using the intervideo decoder and found that the ATSC content started to stutter every few seconds. As of right now I don't use analogue so I don't know how that would perform but I assume it would do fine. Once I bought the Nvidia decoder and began using it again then playback was fine and I could tell the difference in the picture quality as well. Was much better with Purvideo. When using S/PDIF out on my motherboard with my receiver I have no problems at all getting audio but I am also using the intervideo audio decoder and not Nvidia's. Thats just my experience.

I'm currently using the Intervideo audio decoder for my TV, and haven't yet been able to get DVDs to work. Crappy-tastic.
