resume playback of recording from last location

When playing a recording, the Play button in the UI should do as normal, which is play from beginning of recording.

Add another button Resume that will be disabled if the recording has never been played, or the last playback went all the way to the end. Otherwise let user click button, and it resumes playback from last location.

As the guys have already pointed out, setting <UseMenuResumeButton>true</UseMenuResumeButton> in config.xml will do this.

We tried it as the default for a couple of releases, but most people preferred the other mechanism, so we went back to that as the default.

Ctrl-P is Play, why not make Ctrl-R as Resume?

Because Ctrl-R is Red, to be inline with Ctrl-Y Yellow, Ctrl-G Green and Ctrl-B Blue.

Ctrl-R and Ctrl-Y aren't listed on the Keyboard Reference wiki. Is that page up to date? I've been using it as my master reference. I know I can make any key connect to any button using HIP, I'm just wondering what the defaults are. You pointed me to KeyMappings dir.

That page is generally (ever?) not updated by sub, only by us users. It won't get better than what we make it. It seems there are a few people trying to maintain the wiki; more people wouldn't hurt. If you (or anyone else) find anything inaccurate or missing, you are more than welcome to fix it If you pm blader_se he will set you up an account.
