Hmm... Odd...

Anyway you could try using a program called AnyDVD ( http://www.slysoft.com/en/anydvd.html ) that works as a driver automatically in the background and removes encryption (CSS) and region code (RPC) from DVDs...

Best regards!

Something is up with your system glass. I have used anydvd many times and never had any issues with it. Clever bit of software actually. Even works with nero etc. for making dvd copies as it looks like a dvd drive to nero, and decrypts the actual dvd on the fly.

But do you actually have a PVR350 card and can watch DVD's over it using AnyDVD? I could care less about ripping/copying on this machine. ####, CodeMonkey, you're local to me if you've got that working then show me! LOL

I don't own a 350. Preferred the 250MCE and video card with svideo out (ended up being cheaper too Wink ). So you are saying you can play it on your PC screen fine, but when it goes out the 350 to the tv it gets out of sync?

No wonder MCE doesn't support tv out on the 350 Wink

Actually it doesn't do anything, other than sound. My theory is that there needs to be something in place to tell things like WinDVD (et al) HOW TO output to the 350, because it works by default no problems with a standard video card's TV-Out.

Yeah, actually I've been eyeing a Radeon 9200 card. And you can get a GF card for less than $60 that has TV-Out. I think I already made the post of what I would need to do then, use the video card for DVD playback and the Hauppauge card for the rest, with an A-B switch. Unless Hauppauge themselves has some answers...hmm.

WinDVD won't output to the PVR350's TV Out port, as this isn't a standard video out. There are special drivers within the Hauppauge software to allow it to output video to the PVR350 TV Out (Microsoft calls them filter graphs). You connect the different graphs together, and hey presto! you have video. You can do this in a program by coding it up, or you can do it using a tool from MS called GraphEdit.

The problem is you have to have compatible output feeds from one to input into another. To play a DVD you need the filter graph called "DVD Navigator", which must then have it's output fed to the PVR350 TV out - unfortunately the DVD Navigator outputs aren't compatible with the PVR350 TV out graph's inputs.

It needs someone to work out how to connect the two together - either by writing an intermediate graph, or by working out if any of the above decss type programs can fool the PVR350 TV Out graph that the DVD Navigator output is okay as an input.

Cheers,
Andy

So, again, it can't be done [Image: smile.gif]

I called Hauppauge and "offically" it can't be done. They claim that the PVR350 card "doesn't know what to do with VOB files and AC3 information". Bah. I've never been a big fan of "offically" ... rules were made to be broken weren't they? [Image: tounge.gif]

On a bit of good news when I called them they told me how I can connect my VCR and TV at the same time (as in the VCR into the TV card and still watch what I'm doing on the TV). I missed the SVideo to composite adapter they included in the box. Needless to say, however, it's JUNK. So now I need to order a good one. Man this project has gone way over budget [Image: sad.gif]
