Restarting the rec-service fixes it?
Then this might be a thread for you to read: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...=hibernate
It can make the rec-service restart after wake-up.
If you can't figure it out, just ask.

I don;t think that restarting the recording service is going to solve the problem of having a blanks screen on resume.

Yoda are you saying that if you wiggle the mouse the screen wakes up ok? I get this problem and tried to fix it with my autoit script (by adding a mousemove) without success. So no this program doesn;t fix the blank screen on resume problem.

If your problem is like mine, you only get the problem if the pc has been awake for a while and the graphics card/driver decides to switch video output off. If you view the pc immediately after it has woken up, the screen is ok yes?

If so, I don;t have a solution to this problem.

Ok. Bit of an update.

I reinstalled windows since my last post and now hibernation works - not from within GBPVR fully, i.e no remote on restart from hibernation (but that seems a common problem from the threads I've read.

So what I've done is set the power button to hibernate and just press this briefly to initiate hibernation. This works beautifully and my remote will work as well scheduled recordings also start and boot the machine.

BUT one sticking point remains. it will not pass the login screen without an intervention from me i.e. i must press enter.

I have one Administrator account and no password. Booting windows from shutdown and it passes the welcome screen no problems but boot from hibernation and it stops on the welcome screen until i select enter.

I have tried without the welcome screen option. I've tried Tweak UI auto login option. I've tried with a password as well but all of these work on boot from shutdown or restart but not from hibernation.

This is an annoying little thing that will make a BIG difference but I'm a bit stuck.

do you have "on resume, display welcome screen" in your screen saver settings?

FIXED, sorted, done.

The screen saver options weren't on so not that. What i did was uncheck fast switching in the user control panel, and used auto login with Tweak UI

So to clarify, i can now hibernate from GBPVR in full screen, the hauppauge remote still works on resume (about a fifteen sec delay??), scheduled recordings will also work and start the machine (don't know how to re hibernate after recording finishes - say if i'm on holiday or away). All by pressing the power switch once.

I think this will be a good way for the family to operate this as it will be a dedicated HTPC, rather than going through the menu screen and sub menus, also has the benefit of full screen TV on resumption.

My setting are:

Power option in control panel - advanced tab - select hibernate option for "when i press th power button on my computer"

User settiings in control panel - "change the way users log on" - select "welcome screen" - unselect "fast switching users"

Download, install Tweak UI from Microsoft (free) go to log on options (down the bottom on the left - select auto login (fill out any password you may have on the right hand side)

Also as gEd suggested make sure that
"Welcome screen on resume" is unchecked from the screen saver options (right click on desktop)

Thanks gEd hope the above helps anybody with hauppage remote difficulties on resume, should probably work with standby but haven't tried it.

Thanks gEd, will try that.

But back to your script, does this restart any of the inclded programs if they crash i.e. if i GBPVR crashes while doing something it will auto restart the program so i don't need to keep my key board plugged in?

If so how to i use it and where do i put it??
