As Johnsonx42 mentioned, you should be able to get the digital side of the device going by adding the following to your bda.ini file, then setting up a capture source for 'Yuan PE988' for ATSC via antenna, or 'Yuan PE988 (QAM)' for digital cable. [Yuan PE988] TUNING_TYPE=ATSC FILTER_TUNER=CX23885/8 PCI-E BDA Tuner/Demod A FILTER_CAPTURE=CX23885/8 PCI-E AVStream TS Capture A PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0 PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport [Yuan PE988 (QAM)] TUNING_TYPE=ATSC TUNING_SPECIAL=2 FILTER_TUNER=CX23885/8 PCI-E BDA Tuner/Demod QAM A FILTER_CAPTURE=CX23885/8 PCI-E AVStream TS Capture QAM A PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0 PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

This thread was originally about an Yuan Analog TV tuner, then you came and asked about a similar Yuan tuner for use with Digital. Hence sub initially answered from an Analog point of view, which confused you further since you were asking about the digital side. As a general rule it's best to post a new thread rather than resurrect an old thread, which avoids that sort of confusion. But it's hardly a grave injury upon us

I gather it's not working, but you're giving no indication of how. If you'll give us more information on how/where it's not working we may be able to help further. Your card does seem to be a rare bird. There's nothing currently in the bda.ini file remotely like it. It's particularly unusual that it has different filter names for the ATSC and QAM tuning spaces... most (all?) other cards use just one filter name. Almost any card with a BDA driver will work for tuning broadcast ATSC, whether it's been seen before or not. ClearQAM tuning on digital cable is another matter, as the methods for tuning QAM are not standardized across all cards & drivers. The line "TUNING_SPECIAL=2" tells GB-PVR to use a QAM tuning method that works for Hauppauge and similar cards. There are a few other rarely used TUNING_SPECIAL settings, but I have no idea if any of them could pertain to your card. Sub? Quote:I'll just go shopping for a card that is supported with no issues..For QAM tuning, the list seems to be what I mentioned in the paragraph above: Hauppauge devices, and then the SiliconDust HD Homerun. Everything else is a maybe. If you look through the BDA.ini file, any card in there with (QAM) in the name is there because *someone* told sub it worked, so he added it to the base copy of the file; that doesn't mean it will still work today, or that it's somehow officially supported. Sub's prior comments on these matters indicate that Hauppauge is about the only company he has good contacts with, the only one willing to help an independant developer of a free program.
