I know everybody is scrambling to work with 1.00.8.
I've zipped up a trailer, both the .mov and my .mpg that I created.

Can you check it out for me?
http://mark.phillk.net/files/Ratatouille.zip

I changed the ffmpeg line from -target dvd to -target svcd (everything else leave alone)
and it plays fine on my MVP.

Make the change in the batch file that has the ffmpeg line in it, delete the Ratatouille.mpg file and fire off the other batch file again.

For me it didn't matter if it was dvd or svcd moving from .mov was the key with PVRX2.

Martin

This question has come up before that people were having trouble on the MVP playing the mpg files that were converted by ffmpeg from the downloaded trailers.
I didn't try playing the mpg file from the plugin, I just changed the target and moved it to my video library and played it.
Another person said that he had to delete all of the mov files to get it to play correctly. I'll test it out later from the plugin and see if it has any trouble.

Hmm... tried svcd, but still with the error. What error logs would you like to see?

Okay... here's what's happening, I try to play from the MVP, and I get nothing. Either the screen flashes then it goes back to Cinema listing, or I get a black screen, like the video is trying to load, and then back to the listing.

I'm using the original dongle.bin file... I tried the mvpmc one but that didn't work at all on my MVP. (That's for another thread.)

Here's MVP-PVRX2.exe log:

Are you using an NTSC MVP?

If you move the file to your video library, can you play it from there?

I see the word "International" here. The Hauppauge dongle will immediately exits on the opening of a file as this one does when there is a PAL/NTSC mismatch.

I also see "Video resolution is 480x480" maybe that has to be 480x576.

Martin.

Not sure where he is from, it might be a PAL MVP and the conversion that was listed was for NTSC.

Figured it out guys... I was leaving the .mov files in the folder. So I had .mpg and .mov in the same folder. When I deleted the .mov files, it started working instantly. From the time it didn't work to the time it worked (3-4 minutes) all I did was remove those .mov files.
