Ok, the CM11a would probably be supported first.
I could see the need for a dedicated server/service application to handle the time based actions and the triggered action since the plug-in would not always be active in GB-PVR. So then the plug-in would be connecting to this other application for status and control but still keep it simple for remote only MVP’s.
The scripting language is possible; I have done it before in other projects.
So I should get working on it. I don’t have any time-frame on this yet but as soon as I start to see something usable I’ll be sure to update everyone.

Sounds good. I'm sure a few users would be pleased to see this type of plugin.

I agree with your assessment that the plugin should probably communicate with another process to manage things. This seems like a tidy way to do it.

Might be handy for this plugin to be able to put text on the live/playback tv screen as well when some event happens like a motion sensor going off, or the water tank leaking. Hint hint sub Wink

I have written a "Home Control" plugin for GB-PVR that interfaces GB-PVR to a home control package called Premise Home Control System. Here is a link to their site:

http://www.premisesystems.com/

It is a full blown Home Automation software package. It was originally developed by a company called Lantronix, but a few months ago, Lantronix sold the Premise part of the company to Motorola. The software costs around $200 US for a personal edition, but there is a trial version available if anyone would like to try it out. The CM-11A is supported.

My plugin is a very simple interface because I wanted it to run from the MVP client. My idea is to have multiple MVPs around the house doing the normal GB-PVR functions plus having the ability to control house functions, such as lights, sprinkler system, security, HVAC, ... all from the MVP. I would happy to give a copy of the source(VB.NET) to anyone who would like to use it. But, it requires the Premise software in order to do anything.

Bryan, I would be interested in the source code. I will download the Premise demo to study the code and pull some ideas for the server app from Premise’s software. I will use get ideas from other X10 programs also so I don’t create copy-write issues. Your code will save me time on interface development if I only need to change the communications pieces.

PM me if you are interested,
John

Now, you can get an RSS feed from the wiki site. Just add "?action=rss" to the end of any page you would like to have.
E.g.
http://..../AllRecentChanges?action=rss

to get a feed of all changes.

I get the following error when trying to view the feed in GB-PVR:

"Error: This is a DTD declaration outside of a DTD. Line2, position 3."

The only difference between this rss feed and the others is that this specifies a dtd. On Monday I will modify the RSS plugin to ignore the dtd.

Jorm could you update the RSS plugin to return an icon to GBPVR, so it shows up an icon in menus with icons in the buttons.
I made a skin called SharperEdge with a main menu with icons, but the RSS plugin does not show an icon.
I like the RSS plugin and use it, so I would be thankful if you would.' update it
Best Regards
