Sub,

I am fairly new to the HTPC arena. However, even in its developmental stages, GBPVR ranks at the top of all the clients I have tested so far. This includes commercial products.

You have a new follower - Keep up the good, make that great work!

Did you find any problems with V0.18L on the PV258T.
I can't get it to display a picture at all and that's on 2 computers.
I reinstalled the 0.17 and it works fine. Maybe there's something odd with my setups.

Thanks

Hi Ian, I'm just without my development environment for a few days after losing a HDD so I cant check at the moemnt.

I cant think of anything that has changed since my last test run on the PV258T a few days before the release but I'll take a look as soon as my new HDD is up and running. It'll probably be Saturday.

Been there, too many times recently.  Local shop wouldn't be able to help you in this case though.  Dead out of the box, yes.  But warranty replacement needs to go through the manufacturer.

Sub,

Thanks for v18L. I installed it yesterday, and as I mentioned somewhere else on this forum, the interference between vtplus and the recordingservice appears to be gone. Great!

But, when installing, I accidentally selected the green skin in the scroll box. That caused an error and crashed the configuration app.

I have selected the red sky skin (I like that one very much, and so does my wife). However, selecting a program in the tvguide generated an error: the quickrecordbutton was not found. And indeed it was not in the red sky directory. So I've copied the buttons (both the plain, as the selected one) from the blue skin directory as a work around.

No further problems up till now.

Greetz,

Cheers for the heads up on the missing button. I've corrected this for the next release.

I'm surprised the green skin was still listed as an option for you. I've removed it from the distribution and replaced it with the flat blue skin

could you please, please, please list the green skin in the next release? i love it!

by the way: what are you planning for the next release? can someone help? i think, a sort of video-library with information from an online database would be interesting. and the skinning could be redesigned: i am interested of helping, but i have few time. i plan to check out your code-snippet on the skin-download-page. or is there any other help? it would be nice to have some shades and animations and a sort of skin-manager....

Sorry, I've deleted the Green skin. I actually find it quite time consuming to maintain the skins, which is why I replaced the Green skin with the Flat Blue one. It is exactly the same as the Blue skin, with a different background image - which all adds up to less work for me with each release.

I am making small improvements to the skins all the time, and slowly moving away from the all-image driven skins. Hind sight is 20/20. There is already lots of places in the skins where you can specify colour gradients etc. A skin manager would be nice, but is another thing I dont really have time to write or maintain - if you're keen to take on this task, you most welcome.
