I dont GB-PVR being closed source is an issue here. Even if GB-PVR was an open source project and I was just responsible for merge patches, I wouldnt let any of these less-than-legal solutions become an offical part of application, and put the whole project at risk.

I will be building super easy to use support for the new schedulesdirect service, and if any other free alternative service appears that can be used, then I'll build easy to use support for that aswell.

Did you look at this promising solution earlier in this thread http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=2...ostcount=2 I was able to enter my postal code and get listings.

I will stick with whurlston's great solution. I trust it more than html scrapping solutions.

I think my wording was poorly chosen. I didn't mean anything bad... I do like how you let others' hook into GB-PVR... (in more ways besides Batch files, too)

So am I to assume that you think using MCE/Vista listings and transferring them to a usable XML for GB-PVR is questionable?

Or just how MCE got there in the first place?

It actually violates the EPG TOS in Media Center. But I may have something up my sleeve for that. Wink

One can use a HTML scraper without ever touching Media Center or its TOS, whatever it may be.

Even removing the "less-than-legal" part of the solutions, I see no need for sub to add any support for these. They all output an XMLTv compliant file which is already supported. So I'm not sure what "native" support anyone could want.

I have confidence and patience that a solution will be found for us. As a non-programmer, I appreciate your collective efforts very much. I am not unwilling to pay, but my experience with gbpvr.com suggests that the developped plugins are so much more user oriented and friendly. In respect of getting MCE or Vista, I am reluctant to get Vista and I thought you weren't allowed to buy the MCE operating system without buying a computer to go with it.
