Setting up with Asus My Cinema U3000 Mini - I don't have a clue (UK)

firstly it looks as if the epg grabber isnt finding any channels, you need to tell it what channels to use.
so if you go into the program xmltv gui, then "tools" then "grabbers" make sure you have got a tick in "uk RT" and its highlighted, then click on channels on the bottom right. then select the channels you require listings for then try grab again.

I`m not sure about why the scan doesn`t find any channels hopefuly someone else can help

Okay, I've now moved back to uni so I'm now trying from a different location. I have set it to scan all channels but still there is nothing showing up. It might be worth noting that my friends get reception on their normal digital TVs here, and that I still don't get anything with the program that comes with the tuner (Asus EZVCR).

If its not working with the app that came with it, then it probably wont work with GB-PVR. Its probably a driver issue or something similiar.

You need a decent Arial to get the Asus to work with any software. Mine only works if I plug it into the house arial. Make sure that you can use the standard software with it...its poor but it works.

To set up GBPVR you need to add this to the BDA.ini file

PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

When you have done that, start the config and go to Capture Sources. Add a new source. for that set the source to 'BDA Recording Plugin'. Set the EPG source to 'DVB EPG Broadcast'

Hit the settings button next to the BDA Recording Plugin source... Find the Asus u300 Mini in the device type dropdown and click OK. When you get back to the 'edit recording source' dialog you can press 'Mapdigital channels to EPG channels'. Press scan and wait while it finds your digital channels.

As I said above this will only work with a decent signal... the little stick arial you get with the Asus will not work anywhere as far as I am aware
