Well that is a bunch of bs. I don't see anything wrong with having the features of software listed.

the problem is that it only list good things, it doesnt mention the new requirement for VMR9, or the long standing hardware encoder requirement

If no response comes in a week or so I suggest we remove the {{advert}} tag

I noticed this too. When you look at the mythTV page, it's loaded with stuff that is similar.
Ted may be right, that there aren't mentions of limitations. I'm going to change it again, where it links to the GBPVR.com web site to display features, and try to be more encyclopedic...

suggestion: get rid of "visit gbpvr.com for more info" - very advert like.

I think in a next round you could do away with references to MythTV, APpple TV etc. They are all covered under 'Comparison of PVR software packages'. I suggest to move that item to the top of the 'See also' section.

Also, I'd get rid of the term "easy" that seems to be sprinkled throughout the article, as in:
"Easy to understand and control User Interface" or "TV Guide for easy scheduling of recordings" Those do read like an advertisement. I would change those to: "Built in Graphical User Interface to control the system" "TV Guide for scheduling of recordings" Another example of an ackward sounding item: "No-delay live preview TV, with the fastest possible channel change time." That reads like some silly advertisement. There are others as well. Stick to the pure facts, not opinion mixed with facts. It would make it read more professionally and less fanboy-ish. |
