TBH I haven't checked the FAQ out yet, but certainly something like "Don't be afraid to ask on the forum if you are having problems and can't find an answer here" Many places only seem to have macro's on keyboards for "RTFM", "Not supported" whereas our leader has a much wider and kinder selection of keyboard macro's "post your logs", "coming in the next release", "Sorry no DVB-t radio" (I jest of course)

Yeah, I thought it might be easier for people rather than posting a question and waiting for a reply to get an instant answer and be on their way using GBPVR.

Although there is a sticky on what to do in posting support questions, http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=16767, it might also be a good FAQ. In particular, I have noticed that if you are posting your logs, you need to enable "flushing to disk" first and it seems as if the installation doesn't default to enable flushing. Thus, it seems that if you have a problem, you should first go to the WIKI to see if the question is answered there, then check the forums and the survival guide sticky for the version you are using in particular. If you are going to post a problem that will require viewing the logs, I am guessing that it is necessity to check the config to make sure that it is set to "debug"+ "flushing", reproduce the problem so that the problem is described in the logs, and then post the logs (otherwise the logs won't help). As I went to check the description of the config panel to find out what "flushing" was about, I noticed the screenshot is from 98.13 and doesn't have a flushing option.
Sometimes, the problem solvers like to see screenshots. Skippy_nz provided a detailed description in http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...ht=mspaint. While it may be rather straight forward for many, this too might be a good FAQ particularly for those with less computer expertise. If a comment to this effect is added, can we also add the requirements for uploading the screenshot: my mspaint is missing somehow and when I try to use some other paint program (photoshop), it saves my screenshots with too much of something so I can't upload them. What I am really looking for is a check list to make sure that I have done my best to post my problems in the most efficient way. People, and sub in particular, have been great in helping me when I have problems. However, when I have a problem, I tend to be a bit flustered because "it's broke and I might never be able to fix it" so that I forget some key piece of information that would help the problem solvers. And once I decide to post, I have to decide if it is "Support" question or a "plugin support" question when it may be a mix of the two! If there are any easy FAQ that need to be added to the WIKI, I would like to help but I am missing too much information to write these two suggestions up. p.s. Is there a difference between the FAQ at the top of the WIKI, under configuration and Troubleshooting FAQ at the bottom of the WIKI? They seem to be the same.
