Hmm, that's what I'm doing. XP Pro => XP Pro. (I'll use XP1 and XP2 to refer to them) I originally had the login automatic by using 'control userpasswords2', but since I read your post, I found another KB article where you hack the registry and enter the password, then set autologin to 1 (true).
In either configuration, when I use mstsc with the /console switch from XP1 to XP2, it still locks the screen on XP2 when I initially make the connection. I didn't think it was possible to use mstsc to get to terminal 0 (err, console 0 in M$ terminology). Reading your comments has given me some hope that it is possible, I'm just trying to figure out where I'm going wrong...
