I keep this as the default, but like Stefan, I will keep the direct access to TVGids as a backup in case this site disappears for whatever (legal?) reasons.

Backing up is always a good idea Smile
My backup is the EPG in Vista. I actually planned to use that as a default, but the program information just isn't as good as tvgids.nl.

The program runs only for a few seconds, so shortly after that you should be able to run the EPG-update in GBPVR. Would it be a good idea to add an option in NLGrabXMLTV to update GBPVR after a completed run?

It might be a nice idea, but the downside is that if you have to revert back to the old system you also must remember to set the EPG update in the GBPVR Configurator.

Question though. What is the best time to run the update? I can only set one time in GBPVR to update the EPG. I had it set on 7 AM but the guide was empty a few times. When I ran a manual update at today 14:00 h the guide is ok till thursday next week.

I've changed the tool to 9 am and the guide update at 10 am. Will look tomorrow...

I checked the xmltv.assies.info site, today it was updated at 08.01.
looks like a script is started at 08.00. But to be sure you'd would have to check a few days after each other.
It does do 6 days not 7. This is probabbly because there always were a lot of errors on the 7th day.

After trying the NLGrabXMLTV 1.0 script, I noticed that the TV guide was completely empty, even though the logs clearly showed that the .gz files had been downloaded successfully.

On inspecting the generated xmltv file, I noticed that the most likely reason for the empty guide was a problem with the date formatting. I downloaded the schedules for the 4th of March to the 9th, but the start and end times were showing as

20080403153500 +0100
20080903115100 +0100

etc, so the day number and month number seemed to have been reversed. I'm guessing there's some kind of assumption about date formats in the script that's incompatible with my windows regional settings.

Would anyone care to PM me some log in information and sample lineups, so I can test the grabber and output with UltraXMLTV Enhancer?

Just download the zipfile from the first post, you can delete every channel from the config.xml you don't want. Then just run the .exe. There is no login.
Edit; in the config.xml you also can enter/change the file-location where the epg shpuld be dropped.
good luck Hans

Got it thanks. It's quite a basic guide isn't. Oh well, added that one to my collection.

Has someone added this to the wiki yet?

Hi zehd,

On http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=28932
it says you'll admin the page, so I figured you could take the info from the first post in this thread to add it to the wiki. But if you'd like, I could add this info myself.

That could be the case. The program reads the xmltv date and converts it to a date parameter. In the end it gets converted back to the xmltv date format. In this conversion the region settings are not taken into account, but this is possible in c#, so I'll look into it. But I'm kind of in the middle of other stuff, so I can't say when it will be ready. Could you explain what region setting your using?
