OK that's just too rediculous to even imagine people using a device that small and tiny display for watching recordings and... oh, ...wait, gotta run - my batch video transcoding for my iPod nano just finished... hey! wait a second...:o

As you can see from all the buttons and knobs, tuning could be a bit of pain...
I can still remember how impressed we were when we got one of those to replace our 360. I can't remember how much memory it had but you could see every bit -- literally -- each bit was about 5mm.
I was following in my father's footsteps, be worked with tabulators and LEO and all that.

I started off on a 1401...
However, IMHO this thread has been hijacked enough... 'Memories of times gone by' might be an interesting topic for the 'General Discussion' forum though
Sorry I'm late to the thread, but check my .sig. I suppose my machine has a bit more Ram than yours, but I frequently find it playing 2 separate shows on our 2 MVPs, recording a third, and running the comskip on an earlier recording! Plus it stays up for months at a time. Pretty amazing if you ask me.

650MHz Athlon slot A on a ASUS MB... 256M memory... 120 G Hard drive... PVR-250... satellite network connection. Rarely crashes without a power failure. I do occassionally cause crashes when interacting through the MVP, but for the most part is solid. I usually just power off the MVP to reboot it, and it is back up. I've actually ran out of memory trying to run the Yahoo TV Guide scrapper which forced me to use the zap2it plugin which works great. I do have problems skipping through programs on playback. Occasionally, I can not skip past the 1/2 point in the program. It ignores repeated attempts to skip until starting a new recording. I'm not sure if it is a bug or a symptom of my low speed system.
