You could try a live playback graph. This is from the original support thread edited slightly for your region...
Quote:1. Open dvbtr.grf with GraphEdit, select the file writer filter (far right named gbnetradio-X.mp3) and use the Delete key to remove it. Do the same for the LAME Encoder filter.

2. Right-click the (now disconnected) 'out' pin of the MPA Decoder and select 'Render Pin'. This should add an audio renderer filter.

3. Right-click the DVBT Network Provider filter and select Filter Properties, then select the DVBT Tune Request tab. For ONID, TSID, SID, CarrierFrequency and SymbolRate, enter the numbers 9018, 16384, 18496, 713834 and 8 repectively.

3. Click 'Submit Request' then OK.

4. On the button bar at the top of GraphEdit, there are Play, Pause, Stop buttons. Click Play and let me know what happens.

Cheers,
Brian

If I attempt to alter the filter properties of the DVBT network provider i get an error box saying : "The requested property page could not be displayed"
I had a look in task manager to see if anything might be running that could cause this but could see nothing.

Brian may have missed a step ...

Hmm, I don't see to have that dll with the copy of graphedit I downloaded (using the link you gave).

I'll do a little more digging and see if I can find one that has it.

I got a version of graphedit and proppage from here ...

The version of GraphEdit you have is missing proppage.dll which must be registered using regsvr32. I'm not sure why there are distributions of GraphEdit which don't include this.

Try downloading this version and registering the dll.

EDIT: Ooops, overlapped posting. As Graham said.

OK that works, however, I have 2 tuning options in the filter one says DVBT and the other says videomate hybridtv dvb if I chose the videomate device that also works. Mpa decoder renders an output box which says default directsound device if that helps.

You mean the DVBT Network Provider filter? Are you saying that there is an extra tab on the properties page in addition to Scanning Tuner, DVBT Tune Request, Tuning Spaces and Antenna Out?

Yep, that's fine - put simply, that's your soundcard.

At this point, I'm still not sure what the problem is but if you can clarify things WRT my first question above that may make a difference.

What I mean is there are 2 tuning spaces one marked DVB-T and another named videomate hybridtv DVB-T.

OK - now I get you. The tuning spaces are basically just defaults and would have been overriden when you entered the tuning info I gave you.

Unfortunately that just puts us back to square one. The BDA components are fine (you can scan for channels and do live playback) and it seems all the other filters are the same as I'm using.

One more test if you're willing...

Open the Dvbtr.grf again and leave the LAME encoder and file writer in place, submit the tuning info to the DVBT Network Provider and then use the play button in GraphEdit. I'm pretty certain it'll throw an unhandled exception (the sort that says 'Do you want to sent to MS etc.'. Let me know what the 'modName' is - I think that's shown at the top of the message box or you may need to click the 'Details...' link.

I thought you might say that but I'm still none the wiser unfortunately.

Can you confirm that the 3.98 Beta version of the LAME encoder registered OK...

Open Dvbtr.grf again, right-click the lame encoder filter and select Properties then select the About tab. It will have version info listed at the top. Just clutching at straws really - regsvr32 sometimes doesn't get it right even though it pops up a success message.

Cheers,
Brian
