(since there is no knowledge of the stream duration or current stream position etc, and no skipping etc).

I am sure when I tried with mvpmc by changing the extension from .ts to .mpg & altering the recordingdump.xml to reflect the change to extension so it showed in the recordings screen that when I played it back it showed the correct timeline info with the blue button & skip worked fine.

Quote:A large percentage of users would also have had transport streams that were incompatible with the MVP anyway, ie highdef MPEG2, or H.264 video, or AC3 audio, or AAC audio etc, so transport stream was not going to work for them regardless...

Yes I can see this as being a problem for a lot of people.

I just tested this for a SD .ts recording (renamed to .mpg) & it defiantly knows the stream duration & current position & all skips worked fine including entering the number of minutes on the keypad & hitting the skip button.

Could you upload this file or a good chunk of it to megaupload?

Huh, what's the big deal?

I thought this was normal as others .ts recordings (that don't have lip sync problems) do the same thing & that is why I was keen for sub to allow .ts files through to the MVP without transcoding.

I have no problem uploading some of that file, but at the moment it is over 1Gb in size & with our rubbish broadband in this NZ that would take forever. What would be the best program to cut it with that won't distort the contents?

I'd like to get 5-10 minutes of an SD ts file that will play well with GBPVR so I can test positioning on the MVP in emulation mode when the change is ready. Don't worry about if it is difficult. I can only capture AC3 ts source and I want a pure TS file not something I create.

I thought it might be something like that & that was why I ask about the best way of cutting it. I can't do anything about it at the moment as the wife has it recording a movie & it is also currently setup to use the ati mux but when I get a chance I'll set it for ts & record something shorter so I can upload it...maybe early next week now though.

Any binary cut is fine with me but you can use tsremux to trim if you want. Time isn't a concern.
