The answer is yes, but for non-encrypted DVD's. So backuped DVD's on your share will work fine. Don't know about a drive, though.

Cool... From a folder is good enough. Espacially if you get all the DVD features like Dolby etc..

I use MVP for a few years now but I want to move forward and do more with the mediacenter. I'll look for prices in The Netherlands... My country knowing they'll cost way to much but will Google for it..

You can even start the DVD from the Video Library in GBPVR, if you set it up right. One thing I forgot to mention is that the PCH has aspect ratio problems with DVD's on a CRT screen. That should be fixed next release, though. But maybe you'd like to wait buying one until you have confirmation about that.

You can buy the PCH from Syabas directly. A friend of mine has done the same, it just takes longer to get it.

Googled it. Like I thought in The Netherlands they dare to ask 299 Euro without shipping. While order it in the USA it will cost 185 euro ( 216,- euro including shipping).

Still a lot of money considering that a MVP cost me around 90 euro. For the difference I can burn a lot of DVDs and use it in my standard DVD player.

I didn't hear of any alternative for the PCH yet....

But fair is fair. The PCH is a very nice piece of hardware and I would like to buy one anyway. For now I think I'll wait. The winter season is comming and I'm going to ski for a lot of weeks this year. I'm starting in decembre and every month I go one week skiing till march...

Maybe in spring.. :p
