The 120mb file would be great. Give me till Monday and I'll send you info on where you can upload it directly to me.

that's fine with me. not sure if that's important but i saved that file with the TSReader option to "drop transport stream header". i can record another file without the option (with stream headers included) if you need them.

I don't think I'll need the TS header. The info I'm interested in should still be in there.

i uploaded the TVGOS PID recording of about 12 hours or so. it's 120+ megs and you can take a look at it. i did find some patterns but i didn't dedicate too much time.

I noticed this post doing a google search regarding tvgos format. I understand that it is a proprietary format, but I've gotten curious and I may spend a little time trying to understand it. Did you ever spend any time looking at it?

Your upload expired on rapidshare. Do you still have that file around? I'd like to compare it to what I get in Colorado. If you don't have it, and wouldn't mind regenerating it, it would be easier for me to analyze with software if the TS headers were in place, but don't go through the trouble of doing that if you still have the old file around.

Did you notice whether or not there were really long periods of time (perhaps an hour or more) where almost nothing was being sent (i.e. mostly short empty packets)? I'm wondering if the local CBS station turns tvgos "off" sometimes (I'm not sure why -- I can't imagine they are worried about bandwidth, since tvgos is still pretty low bandwidth even when it is transmitting more than just empty packets).

I noticed in your "pattern recognition" comment you mentioned something about a filename. I'm not sure I've seen anything that would qualify as a file name. Can you elaborate?

EDIT: Nevermind about the last question, now I've seen some jpeg's with filenames at the end.

OK, I've looked at this enough that I don't need to compare what I've gotten from my local CBS station (KCNC) with another, so I don't need the data I asked for previously.

However, I am still interested in knowing if either of you has looked any further into decoding this data.
