So there...      [Image: tounge.gif]
It's great that you spent that extra money for MCE compatibility and don't use it. I'll build my own and save the HP surcharge.

Well, actually, I was planning to build up a nice box to use as a pvr but it turned out that the HP cost less than I could build one with the same specs. Getting a good discount on HP from where I work was a big help but don't always assume you can save money by rolling your own. HP and Dell offer some smoking deals from time to time. You just gotta know what you want and be ready to jump on the deals when they happen.

The MCE compatibility doesn't really amount to much. I would probably have used pretty much the same configuration on my own. MCE is real picky about drivers and combinations thereof. The hardware isn't really any different.

My point was that MCE ain't all that great...

Hey I love gb-pvr, it one of the best, need a bit of work, but once dvb get working in it, I am sure your user base will sky rocket from ~2500 user ( based on forum numbers) to probably ten times that.. in a few months.. I know your going the bda route.. so that going to slow your growth considerably for a while.. since it will limit amount of dvb cards that can be used.. still hoping you will consider other routes.. but what it can do now is it pretty good not many pvr programs I tried come close to the functionality of GB-pvr

To be quite honest about this, and I've thought about it a bit recently, I'd actually prefer smaller set of users than I've already got, and probably a smaller set of hardware. Remember this is only a hobby, and I have to hold down a day job too. As it is, I already dont get enough sleep.

The last couple of releases got about 20000 downloads per month. I'm sure there isn't that many people using it on a regular basis, but I also know there are lot of lurkers here.
