FINALLY got around to putting it all together ... got the box running on the TV but as yet, without a tuner card.

Doing a quick ebay - I can find plenty PVR-150 but most have 26552 or 26582 in the title - I can't find any 32552 ... does this matter?

The forum at ...

http://www.hauppauge.co.uk/board/index.php

is usually helpful (and is not country specific despite the .co.uk). You could ask there for specific advice re. Hauppauge.

Good Luck

I was under the impression that Japan had its own flavor of NTSC, that's why I suggested one that does NTSC-J. What are the supported formats of the 26552 and 26582? Is Japan going digital like the US did?

In 2010 I think and we use NTSC-J, but we only use SkyTV via set-top box ...
The eBay items that have the most details or good pictures do include NTSC/NTSC-J on the 26552 and 26582 units ... ???

Then I would expect they would work for you.

Got one, installed it and running ...
Quality isn't that great is it? I guess going STB to PVR150 to graphics card back to TV induces some loss though ... also seems a bit low on the framerate ... recordings are better quality though.
Now to get GBPVR installed and see if I can't get it working nice Wink waiting for .Net to download while I'm at work ...

Kamikuza,

I've just created a couple of setup guides, one of which you might find useful,

on this thread http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=43361

Look at Initial Setup Guide for Analogue TV using GBPVR 1.4.7

This document covers setting up GBPVR with a PVR150 card for recording via Set Top Boxes...

Hope this helps

Thanks for that, I'll have a close look.

GBPVR TV quality is much better than through the OE Hauppauge software ...! Impressed! Having problems with the aspect ratio though ... hopefully in the guide!

I actually got my analog card sorted out from your digital guide Big Grin but the aspect ration keeps default to 4:3 I guess, cos it stretches the picture to fit my 16:9 TV ...
I think it's correct if you open pvrx2.exe the first time, but if you pause or something it comes back wonky ...
