Martin,

I have been following the thread you linked in an earlier message & have just had the hurry up from my friend who is also looking at buying a egreat-m34a as our dollar is quite a bit stronger against the US dollar than it has been for a while.

From the NMT forum robert_san6 in post 18 said "NOW THE HDX 1000 REMOTE IS working with my egreat-m34" (this was before he cross-flashed it). I am a bit confused but think he was using your program at this time, if so do you think the Hauppauge remote will also work with it or is there still not enough information for you to tell?

He never used the modified lircd program, but he was scanning with irscan program. I am confident that this is an NMT and I could use lircd, but I am not as confident that is uses the same scan egreatusa did get back to me and they are sending my request to egreatworld fwiw.

Our $ is stronger too Smile but they've "closed" the borders to Canadians now as we require passports Sad so no cross-border shopping for me for a bit.

Hi Martin,

Is there an equivelent of a .lircrc file for the NMT? I would like to be able to tweak the delay figure as my hamfisted use of the MVP remote generates occasional double keys.

Thanks

Martyn.

I will make the source available so you could cross compile it yourself, but it doesn't use a .lircd or lircd.conf file, but this isn't he kind of customization I plan on adding myself.

Martin.

I've noticed the MVP sometimes gives double keys (most noticed when OK'ing a recording and it plays instead of going via the play, resume, delete menu). The PCH remote doesn't do this, so I'm guessing that the MVP remote internally repeats faster?

The MVP remote is still much the favourite in this household though.

Perfect, I've been looking for an excuse to build the cross compiler.

Actually, you are right, I've noticed that as well.

I'm happy to have a bash(no pun intended) at it, it's an area I've delved into before with mythtv and MS remotes. Do we think a configurable lircd.conf would be a good or bad thing? I suppose it's nice for people to be able to tweak their key allocations, but may add support headaches.

trummel, I've you are interested they are some pre-build cross-compilers on the lundmann wiki, including one that should run on win32 with cygwin.

I have a Fedora Core 9 I was planning to use, I'm most at home with linux and cygwin just adds an extra layer to cause trouble! I'll get the lundmann linux toolchain on tonight and see if I can at least get to say hello world. Could you point that lircd source in my direction please and I'll have a look and see if I think it's within my pay grade to do something with it.
