After some thread searching & reading I got it working by changing the name to index_sd.htm & it is now auto loading for me.

This thread is meant to be for tips & tricks for me to add to the wiki, not necessarily what we use ourselves (although I am having a play with index_sd.htm to see what I can get it to do <grin>).

All users are different & have different needs so the more variety we can get posted on the wiki for them to chose from the better experience they will have with their NMT....or that's how I see it & why I am willing to spend (waste if you ask the boss) my time on doing it.

Is there anything else you had to do to get it working? I still can not get it to autoload. Any tips or tricks? Rolleyes

The only other thing I had to do was in index_sd.htm edit the name (MEDIA) to the same name as my PC, having forgotten the name for this PC I just checked what it was on the NMT media screen that shows the share Wink

Getting the name right is everyone's biggest challenge. Taking the name from your working GB-PVR.html file is your safest bet.

From all your messages saying it takes too long for your liking I assumed you had to wait for it to auto load from the NMT share selection menu (which does take quite a while) & you couldn't manually interrupt it.

I have been VERY pleasantly surprised that you can select the share & OK on it, it then goes straight to the loading screen & waits for a measly 3 seconds before auto loading GB. I have made a modified index_sd.htm file for my use & if I don't press OK within 3 seconds it loads GB from my main server but if I press OK I then can select what I want to load just like I did using the GB-PVR.html. But for the boss she just has to hit the power button & it will load automatically for her......great WAF.

Hmmm I didn't even know it was a "challenge" & I passed without even thinking about it Big Grin

I am a little confused about this. If I boot the popcorn does it actually load GBPVR automatically? By looking at the screen shot above it only saves me one key press. I do not power off the popcorn on a regular basis. I just turn off the TV so once I have booted into GBPVR I wouldn't need a script to start it back.

I am still trying to get this sorted out in my own mind before I attempt to write a bit about it on the wiki, hopefully by then I will be able to make it clearer & easier to follow.

Yes from a cold startup if you just leave it alone it will fire up into GB all by itself, it does take a bit of time for it to 'time out' on the share selection screen & go to the screen I posted (it also misses out the screen where you select what media you are going to use, the one you have to right arrow right across to select).

OK I just had a small break & had a think about it & hopefully this will make it a bit clearer.

"For me"
If I power up my EGreat NMT from cold & just leave it alone it will load GB without an more intervention from me (I will time it tomorrow when I get some free time & let you know how long it takes).

If I power up from cold & select (OK on) the share from the network browser screen it then goes straight to the screen (in the screen shot a couple of messages back) & after waiting 3 seconds loads GB without any more intervention from me.

If I power up from cold & select the share from the network browser screen it goes to the loading screen & if I press OK within 3 seconds I then have the option of what to select next from the menu.

I hope that is a bit clearer?

I would just like to say this is a wonderful idea to wiki page for this type of information.

I would suggest adding information on the 999 feature that toggles the auto comskip behavior on/off.

Thank you for your comment.

I still need users to post their tips & tricks before I can add them to the wiki. One of the main reasons for starting on this is I have only owned & been using an NMT for a few months & have been fighting to find out what it can & can't do & I am sure there are quite a few others out their in this same situation.

This is a built in GB feature not a NMT only feature. I'm sure I have read about it somewhere else on the wiki in the past. Having said that if you can find another appropriate section on the wiki that it should be added I will have a look at doing it.
