PDVD has a "Cinema Mode" that has minimal OSD and can be controlled by remote. I don't have version 10 but I hear that there is an issue with sound in Cinema mode for that version though. I think the regular mode also responds to remote commands but I'll need to double check that.

WinDVD and TMT also respond to remote commands.

I've seen reasonably priced PDVD v9 ultra on ebay, since I don't care about 3D, is it as good as v10 for normal bluray playback?

Yeah, PDVD7 is fully controllable by keyboard (and hence remote). TMT3 is ever so slightly less so; there's a couple of (non essential) commands that they've mysteriously left as mouse-clicky only.

If you run the uMCEDVDPlayer.exe instead of the default uDigitalTheatre.exe, you can get the all the commands. Set your remote profile for the executable to be the same as the profile for Media Center.

Gave that a try and it works extremely well. I can start it from a GBPVR custom task, it runs full screen, lets me do all I want from the remote and quits back to GBPVR when done.

If you have the "Info" button, that can be used to bring up the program's menu.

I do, and that works. Handy way of selecting other audio channels etc. Do you know if it'll play non local region bluray disks with AnyDVDHD installed? Or does it do it's own region handling so likely to get upset if I stick a different region disk in?

Are they any r/c friendly setings or command line options for PDVD8?

I think there are key/rc commands but I'll have to check. If I remember correctly, there are no command line options though. It's been a while since I used PDVD 8. I'll double check and let you know later tonight or tomorrow.
