I just want to say I have a solution for my audio choppy/stutter problem. In order to watch analog TV without any problems I need to only have the MPEG1/2 audio decoder on. All others must be disabled.

Yeah, but it does not work for us who need AC3 and HE-AAC as well.

This issue is covered in other threads and is known to sub. Basically from what I understand the issue is that npvr isnt happy dealing with more than one type of audio codec, which is major issue for australian users are we need both mpeg1/2 and AC3.

Just tried a fresh vista build (was on xp) and the issue is still there. Interestingly if I select AC3filter for both mpeg1 and AC3 codec I get 2 AC3filter task-bar icons appearing, and stuttering audio. But if I disable either mpeg1 or AC3 audio I only get 1 icon and good audio. Sigh. I'm guessing that npvr is trying to output 2 simultaneous streams for some reason (?)

Has anyone been able to come up with a work around for those of us (Australia etc) that need to have mpeg1 and AC3 audio?

Thanks.

Earlier today I was trying to look into this often-reported problem, but I've been unable to reproduce the issue here.

I have made some changes that'll hopefully help, but without being able to reproduce the problem, I cant really be sure.

No, thats not the case. Its only ever outputting one audio stream.

I know this doesn't help anyone having this problem, but there's more to it than simply needing both MPEG-1 and AC-3 audio. All US digital users need both, including me, and I've not seen anyone from here aside from the OP report this problem. I've run with various combinations of MPEG-1 and AC3 decoders, including using AC3Filter for both, always without issue.

I don't have choppy audio with mpeg audio and ac3 either, but having both of them in the graph does cause LiveTV to have major sync issues, which is probably a similar issue.

I'm not sure this will be compatible with your current install, so backup the original file first, then see if this makes any difference. Post the npvr.log if it doesnt help.
