Hi,

when you have extracted the package from the tv listings release, there are two folders inside named "Skin" and "Plugins" that should be copied into npvr's data-directory, which should be the folder "c:\users\public\npvr" by default. If windows 7 asks to integrate the folders into the existing ones, answer yes.

Then that means I have them in the correct place: c:\users\public\npvr\plugins\tv listings (which does show an updated TV Listings.db3), and c:\users\public\npvr\skin\default\TV Listings and c:\users\public\npvr\skin\default\TV Recordings

In addition I have enabled the plugin view and setup the default guide within settings, but I am not seeing the new guide or options within the application...?? I am not using anything other than the default skin, haven't got that far yet.

Hi,

what exactly do you mean by "I have enabled the plugin view"? To enable plugins in npvr, open the settings form and highlight the entry "Plugins" in the left column of the window. There are checkboxes to enable or disable each of the plugins. If it's still not working, please attach your config.xml and your npvr.exe.log so that I can have a look.

Yes, that is what I meant, the checkbox for the plugin..

I finally see that I might be a little crazy in that I was expecting the TV Guide to change. I now see that I can scroll down the main menu to find a new option for TV listings (not visible on the screen at startup and I am not yet use to the application..). So I can see the TV Listings and the TV Recordings option now on the main menu.

Now I am trying to get the theTVDB link in for a series, but when I get as far as to confirm the link with theTVBD it just freezes-up, no confirm or exit is possible from that popup, I must . So is something else wrong?

See attached log and config files...it would not allow config to to uploaded so I zipped them together.

Hi,

sorry, I can't see what went wrong from the logs. At least it seems that a link was created for the search string "How+Met+Your+Mother", and the series information were downloaded successfully to the local cache. Is this behaviour reproducable with other series, too? And if you now select an episode from "How I met your mother" in the tv listings, do you see the additional information in the details popup?

Yes, it does seem that something has been downloaded to the cache (zipped files) the same for all series that I have tried. In order to get the additional information to appear in the details pop-up I have to select "Find More" and select the TVDB listing each time I want to see this information. I thought the link was to prevent the need to go through that process each time for a show in a series...??? Am I misunderstanding what it should do? Do I need to unzip what was downloaded and do something with it?

Hi,

no, after creating a link everything else should work automatically in the background. Could you please zip and attach your tv listings.db3 database file so that i can try to reproduce your problems here?

Hi,

there may be an issue with the customized path to the tvdb data directory. Can you please try to delete the value for "Data Directory" in the configuration form of the tv listings plugin, then try again to create a link with a series from your guide?

I have deleted the cache location, tried the link, then created the cache location again, tried the link..but it does not seem to make a difference. I will still need to select more information everytime for each episode.

What I am seeing is that the download to the cache happens as soon as I select more information for a show. But when I select to create a link I get the confirmation box. When I select 'OK' to continue it just hangs there. This pop-up box never closes. I have to select main menu or close nPVR to exit. What should be happening when the 'OK' button is selected???
