I mean if logging is set to normal, to set it to max level.
While it might not show the reason why it failed the first time around, it would have the needed data once the log level is set to the max level on the next time you try it--as least, I would think it would.

Otherwise, you must exit the program, and run config, and set the logging level, then rerun the program.

I guess it might also be possible to check the file size, and on detection of a 0 byte file, to set max logging level, and retry the last command, and try that a few times before giving up.

For whatever it is worth. I have this issue all the time with GBPVR version 1.4.7 too with the HVR-2250 recording QAM. Are you sure that it not just the current recordings that are effected. For example if you did nothing when a recording is interrupted. Would the next scheduled recording start? In my case it does.

I think the problem is caused by glitches in the cable service causing an instability in the software MUX. The MUX thinks the recording ended so it closes the file. The hardware eventually recovers and continues to tune. Restarting the recording service causes the MUX to being a new recording.

Same problem can happen with ATSC when the antenna signal fluctuates. My logs don't should much of interest when it happens.

I don't know if all the patches you have applied include this
I have a dual tuner, which seemed to work fine when recording 1 stream, but would fail when trying to record 2. It would work for at most 15 min, then stop, with no error message or crash. It would just stop recording. When I restarted the service, I might get another 30 seconds of recording, then it would stop again. The above patch seems to fix this behaviour (at least so far). So if you haven't applied it already, maybe give it a whirl and see if it helps.
