Where did the attachment button go??? I'll post on my server....

I've got a strong background in art, which turned into a college minor in Computer Aided Drafting... That's why my 10 minute design was made in Autocad. [Image: smile.gif] It was just a quick idea that(with some polishing) could look sophisticated, yet could scale well for use as a taskbar icon. I just quickly drew the outline in Acad, then converted it to JPEG in case you were unable to view an Autocad file. I've included both files in case you want to modify the original, and if you like it, I would be happy to spend more time on it, filling in colors and rounding more corners, etc... I was also thinking of a similar idea, with the two letters formed to an rounded equilateral triange(with the point up) making the G and B wider at the bottom than the top. The letters "PVR" could be placed under the G and B when needed, either in a straight line, or in a curved conforming fashion....

Hey sub,

Does it have to be GBPVR (all cap letters)?   My initial thought is, you might want to emphasize the PVR part of things in your logo.

i.e.

gbPVR

or

GBpvr

Something like that.

Also, does it have the hypen in it? (GB-PVR) or is it just GBPVR?

edit: Well, theoretically you could provide emphasis by using two different colors for GB and PVR....but you get the idea.

It doesnt have to be all caps, and doesnt have to have to have a hypen. I'm pretty much open to suggestions.

hitek, if you've got more time I wouldnt mind seeing a colored version. It could look cool relatively small. Too large isnt really me. I'd also be interested if you can squeeze "PVR" in there also.

Keep the ideas coming folks, I'm in no hurry and want a logo thats cool.

im a programmer not a gfx artist, but i would love it if the final logo had a large version aswell, would love to replace my asus mylogo (err the screen the bios displays when machine starts up) with the new gbpvr logo, just to get away from the computer look and move more towards the pvr look.

It's always best to have a master drawing in the highest resolution possible... It's alot easier to scale down than up while maintaining detail. [Image: smile.gif]

I am, by no means, a graphics artist, but am good at line-art. I doubt my entry is worthy of a finishing prize; it was meant more as a starting point... I like what Mozilla did with the Firefox logo... Outside of Autocad and Photoshop, I don't know other graphics or rendering software(I know that heavily shaded logos can be difficult to ledgibly scale down to small icon sizes [Image: smile.gif] ) fluently, but I'll see what I can do with Photoshop! Sub, what colors or shades would you like to see? If you have specific values, you can give them to me in hex...

Sub: I don't know how patriotic you might be, but perhaps your logo should incorporate the Union Jack and Southern Cross, if only as a subtlety in the colorization (i.e., almost transparent) in order to represent the origin (and to inform us Yanks that not everything comes from the States)

When the final logo is choosen... why not set up a merchandising store at http://www.cafepress.com or eq.? I thinks it's cool to have a t-shirt or so. Maybe some great slogan on it too? It's creates a user-community.... And Sub gets a few bucks from every sold product for his work.

Keep the ideas coming folks. I've not really seen anything that jumps out at me yet.
