for my client pc in the bedroom, I wrote a small sleeptimer app which (by user choice) either switches the TV off, or changes the source back to the STB channel.
It also kills NPVR (as I might have a series of shows playing, and I want the client pc to sleep.
When the PC wakes, it fires off a WOL command to the media server & PVR, and waits for connection before lanching NPVR.
Works really well (no more cannot find database messages)
