By the way I encountered a problem with the whole NextPVR stopped working when it was time to record a analog channel from a Hauppauge tuner.

Do I have to reregister the SoftPVR elements when I reinstall NextPVR?

No, you wouldn't have to. Post the logs when you have a problem like this.

I think we need to reregister SoftPVR rite, since the NPVR folder gets deleted when I uninstall the previous version?

You shouldn't have it installed the SoftPVR components in the NPVR folder. That's the wrong place to put it. It should definitely be in it's own directory elsewhere.

Oh but that's the suggested folder as listed here:
http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...ugeSoftPVR

Anyway, ok will take note. Next time I will modify the batch file to create the folder in a non-PVR directory so as to make it independent.

Thanks. Smile

I don't know who came up with that suggestion. I've explicitly told people not to put it in the NPVR directory.

Usually the Hauppauge software installs it to "c:\program files\WinTV\softpvr".

I've griped about that bit of the wiki too. Really bad advice. When manually installing SoftPVR, I recommend C:\SoftPVR. Hanging directories off the root may be a bit old-school, but it avoids potential problems associated with manually messing around in C:\Program Files on modern versions of Windows.

Ok... I would like to relocate the folder.

How can I undo the registering of the files in the registry? What is the command? Putting a "/u" after Regsvr32.exe rite?
