Installed and working (once I got all the remnants of previous weather plug-ins removed and all the W3 files in the right place). I've just done a short run through with 5 locations (2 in Europe) with a couple of observations, and, of course, a couple of wish-list items.

  1. The transition between locations is quite slow, 6-8 secs. Is the data loading "on demand" for each location?
  2. I think the times (sunrise, etc) for each location should be in the local time for the location rather than the local time of the user. Also, the time of update on the bottom of the screen should be in local time at the location.
Wishlist:
  1. It would be nice if the locations and screens wrapped at the end of each list, i.e., next of 5 of 5 goes to 1 of 5.
Thanks, and thanks for the dewpoint.

Fixed for next build.

Will have to think about the best way to do this one. .Net uses two times: Local and UTC.

I can do that.

Also sorting out an issue where certain information is not displayed for certain locations. (Wellington shows no sunrise/set info or Daily forecast).

Errr it used to show the sun set/rise data for Wellington (it still did for Masterton this morning) but I'm not sure what you mean by daily forecast..... the data has been erratic for Masterton for the last couple of weeks in that I will check in the morning around 8:30am & there will be no data at all for the 7 days forecast but if I wait an hour (or sometimes two) & refresh then all the data will be available

When I tested today, there was a null value one of the datetime fields of the JSON data that was causing the data to not be decoded by the plugin. I've fixed it now and will post a build tonight but the kids just got home.

That 7 day forecast is what I mean by Daily forecast. The null value I mentioned would be the cause. Then it finally got a forecast that did not have the null datetime, it would display the data.

Now, it should always show the daily forecasts.

Here is a Weather.dll patch that implements the features requested by mikeh49 (locations actually already wrapped).

Also, there is an additional zip (06.zip) for some missing backgrounds if you are using them. Create a copy of the image for 06.jpg, 07.jpg and 08.jpg

I now have it up & running fine, currently still trying to work out how I'm going to do a skin for it..... but I'm sure I will come up with something

One thing the old weather plugin had was it remembered if it had been previously run within the update time on closing & re-opening NextPVR which helped speed up opening time on a second open.

Also what are the zoom levels about??

I will give you a skinning guide but it might be Monday before I get to do it. There is a lot of info available for the daily forecasts that I just didn't get around to skinning. I also had to manipulate the lists/views in ways that were never intended (each header: current, hourly, daily etc, is actually a list item but I am only displaying 1 at a time instead of the 20 or so like you see in other things like Videos).

None of the data is cached anywhere to disk so it does not persist between sessions. I'll put that on my todo list.

Did I forget to mention that? Use channel up/down when displaying a map. It will zoom in and out for local/regional etc.

No (relative) hurry..... after spending around 1 1/2 hours just reformatting the included skin so it was more in keeping with how sub does his skinning making it easier to follow for those used to that style I needed a break & I haven't got back onto it yet

Quote: There is a lot of info available for the daily forecasts that I just didn't get around to skinning.

I was wondering as the way it is currently is not as informative (in some areas) as Weather2 is, in other areas is quite a bit better though

I could already see that matching displayed items to skin items was going to be a challenge for me.

Hopefully from my point of view "todo sooner" rather than later as it was taking around 40 seconds to load each time the other day I was playing with the skin which is a tad painful when opening/closing it a lot as you have to when skinning (today it's only taking around 15 seconds which isn't so bad)

Got it now thanks..... any chance of a "0%" zoom as well for us living on smaller islands as what is happening over Qz & up in the Islands is of some importance to whats likely to happen to our weather in the coming days/weeks & currently with 25% zoom I can't actually see the whole picture.

I should (in my last reply) have said thank you for the offer it will be very much appreciated

One other wishlist item (I just checked out on the Accuweather site) is if you select degreesC at the top of the site it also gives you degreesC for the maps where as it is showing me degreesF on the maps in Weather3 & as we went metric for this stuff when I was just a little fellow degreesF really don't mean damn all to me now.
